It was difficult for the interpretive opposing approach to fight the previous exclusive current with its ideographic approach to the study of a now subjective reality, which was consolidated and applied to practice with the transformative intention of the complementary socio-critical approach2, and through some of the qualitative methods: a) in the first approach, through the participant or non-participant ethnographic observation, instrumental, institutional, individual or collective study cases that provide understanding rather than previous description; b) in the second one, through the research-action or research based on the design that reverts the situation studied to free and improve it.

El enfoque funcionalista tradicional en la representación y abordaje de la Ciencia ha dejado una férrea herencia metodológica de investigación de objetos y fenómenos objetivos con intención puramente nomotética de describirlos avanzado hacia principios y leyes generales, atemporales y universales, bajo métodos cuantitativos. Métodos cuantitativos tanto experimentales y/o cuasiexperimentales, de evaluación pretest-postest con un tratamiento intermedio, como no experimentales de tipo descriptivo, relacional, comparativo, predictivo, factorial y de meta-análisis, donde no existe manipulación o tratamiento por parte del investigador.

Clinical and educational research has highlighted the emotional and motivational factors that characterize learning difficulties. The main objective of this research is to assess the effects of rehabilitative treatment on self-esteem and behavior in a group of patients diagnosed with dyslexia and dysortography. To 60 students with a diagnosis of dyslexia, at first, they will be given a battery of tests, to assess the emotional and behavioral profile. Afterwards, the experimental group will undergo a rehabilitation treatment that aspires to enhance the performance in reading and writing. In summary, the results show that, through an adequate rehabilitation course with the support of adequate instruments, dyslexic patients can achieve greater self-confidence and a consequent greater self-esteem.

The objective of this study was the characterization of the learning strategies of higher education students of a university in Lima. To achieve this purpose, the focus is qualitative, which allows us to interpret the same practice of the students. The methodology of this research, included direct observation and in-depth interviewing, and was aimed at understanding the reasons for practice in certain strategies. The conclusion of the research is that the metacognitive strategies, the processing of information and the control of the context become the fundamental principles at the moment of learning by students.

El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar las estrategias de aprendizaje utilizadas por los estudiantes de educación superior de una universidad de Lima. Para lograr este propósito, el enfoque es cualitativo, el cual nos permite interpretar la praxis misma de los alumnos. La metodología de esta investigación incluyó la observación directa y la entrevista a profundidad, cuyo propósito fue comprender las razones de la puesta en práctica de determinadas estrategias. La conclusión de la investigación es que las estrategias metacognitivas, el procesamiento de la información y el control del contexto se convierten en las aristas fundamentales al momento de aprender por parte de los estudiantes.

Methodologically, the hypothetical deductive method was used, with a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 62 students belonging to the specialty of education. The descriptive and inferential results demonstrated the influence of metacognition on the reading comprehension of the participating subjects. In all cases, the expected outcome was achieved, evidencing the effectiveness of the intervention carried out.

The present research examined reflexively the causes of teacher discomfort linked to the negative results of students’ performance.   It was carried out under a qualitative approach with multiple case study design subjecting 10 university teachers to in-depth interviews.The results were disaggregated into the following categories: predominance of contradictory feelings; inability to endure  anxiety; inhibition; self- depreciation; anxiety as a dominant trait and balance; acceptance of conflict as an objective reality. It was concluded that the interviewees agreed on a contradiction between the higher education system to promote quality and the real provision of the tools and conditions to do so in practice.
