We are analyzed forty samples of raw milk commercialized at the Callao Market between January and March 2009 using presumptive method for β-lactamics and tetracycline antibiotic residues from IDEX laboratories, to comply with the limits of sensitivity of residues of the FDA. We found 40% of samples tested positive for β-lactamic residues in raw milk. There were no positive outcame to analyze tetracyclines. The results suggest that we should establish policies for legislation, regulation and training and that the NTP 202.001.2003 should be reviewed. The results suggested that should be established policies for legislation, regulation and training, and the NTP 202. 00102003 should be reviewed.

This research was conducted using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to detect heat-labile toxin of Escherichia coli in 24 fresh cheeses manufactured with cow and goat milk. The advantages of the PCR technique, over other analysis techniques, are reliability and rapidity to obtain the results. 24 samples of cheese (from cow and goat milk) were studied obtaining 58.33% of positive cases; 72.72% were positive with fresh goat milk and 46.16% of cow milk. Moreover, the X2 analysis showed, with 99% reliability, that the positive and negative results of the samples tested did not depend on the type of cheese used but did so on other factors, such as good manufacturing practices and standardization of the procedure.

This technique has only been used for the extraction of fish oil, it consisted in the alkaline hydrolysis of glycerides using a rate of 50% KOH for saponification and methylene chloride to extract the unsaponificable part. After saponification and the formation of the sal!, it is acidified to obtain free fatty acids, using acetic acid al temperatures lowers !han -20 ºC. Following the extraction the organic phase containing free fatty acids are dissolved in acetone and temperature used -20ºC ( 20 celsius) precipitates the saturated fatty acids and they are separated by filtration. lt is purified using magnesium salts dissolved in acetone, which means that the unsaturated fatty acids are more soluble. This sample was tested with quality controls like the lodine index, giving much higher values (196) from the once we started (192). lt was also analyze with a GC IS05509-2000 and ISO 5508-1...

Arequipa, Peru’s second economic center hosting c. 1,110,000 inhabitants, is the largest South American city exposed to a large variety of natural hazards. At least 200,000 live in areas likely to be affected by hazards from El Misti volcano, located 17 km to the NE. A multidisciplinary project aims to address the impacts of tephra fall and frequent mass flows on the vulnerable building stock and roofs along two ravines that cross the city, enabling decision-makers to undertake retrofitting projects and improve urban risk planning. Two recent eruptions, that is, the 1440–1470 CE Vulcanian event and c. 2070 years BP Plinian eruption, were chosen as references for probable scenarios of potential tephra fall impacts from El Misti on the building roofs. Tephra fall impacts on the city depend on the eruptive style, column height, and patterns of wind directions and velocities over south P...

Introduction: Stage III non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) management is challenging given the heterogeneous nature of the disease. The LATAM subset of the real-world, global KINDLE study reported the treatment patterns and clinical outcomes for LATAM from the pre-immuno-oncology era. Methods: The study was conducted in seven countries (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay) in stage III NSCLC (American Joint Committee on Cancer, 7th edition) diagnosed between January 2013 and December 2017. Retrospective data from patients' medical records (index date to the end of follow-up) were collected. Summary statistics, Kaplan–Meier survival estimates and a two-sided 95% confidence interval (CI) were provided. Cox proportional hazard model was used for univariate and multi-variate analyses. Results: A total of 231 patients was enrolled, the median age was 65....
