The representative sample of low grade sulphide ore gold for this research study comes from the province of Casma Ancash department. The characterization of the sample was analyzed in the polarized light microscope, in the EAP. Geological Engineering at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), the results indicated the presence of the following mineralogical species such as Electrum, sphalerite, ilmenite, pyrite, hematite, goethite and bargains. Furthermore we found particles referred to gold, which are: Electrum-goethite, Electrum-Gangas, Electrum-goethite-Gangas. La muestra representativa del mineral sulfurado de baja ley de oro, para el presente estudio de investigación, proviene de la provincia de Casma, departamento de Áncash. La caracterización de la muestra se realizó en el microscopio óptico polarizado, de la EAP Ingeniería Geológica de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). Los resultados de esta caracterización indicaron la presencia de las siguientes especies mineralógicas: electrum, esfalerita, ilmenita, pirita, hematita, goethita y gangas. Además, en la muestra encontramos partículas entrelazadas referidas al oro, las cuales son: electrum-goethita, electrum-gangas, electrum-goethita-gangas. The general objective of this work was to propose an innovative process for the use of statistical quality control (SQC/SQP) in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) that allows improving the evaluation of monitoring data and helping to take measures to reduce the effects of environmental pollution caused by mining activity. The research method was analytical, deductive, and hypothetical, with a type of applied research, an experimental design, a descriptive-interpretive level, and a mixed approach (quali-quantitative). The results confirm that the implementation of SQC/SQP techniques within the EIAs allows identifying the necessary corrective measures, optimizing decision-making, and making the required operational adjustments within the Environmental Management System (EMS). The presence of contaminants such as arsenic and antimony in polymetallic concentrates can lead to economic losses due to penalties imposed in commercialization contracts when the permissible limits are exceeded. For this reason, the present study focuses on supporting the reduction of these contaminants through the application of alkaline leaching using NaOH and Na2S in polymetallic concentrates. Optical microscopy tests indicated the presence of species with a high content of arsenic and antimony known as gray coppers and silver sulfosalts. Based on the mineralogical characterization, it was possible to solubilize 93.79% of arsenic and 96.21% of antimony, in a time of four hours, at a temperature of 100°C, with a dosage of 48 kg/TM of sodium hydroxide and 13 kg/TM of sodium sulfide, at a granulometry of 10% - 37μ.
