This study aimed to identify the causes of significant problems existing in the metallurgical sector, and a solution is proposed for the setup process. We detail the theoretical background of the processes in the lean manufacturing methodology, which will be applied to a rolling machine. Further, we provide a brief description of the company and the sector’s problems. We describe success stories of companies that implemented various lean manufacturing tools. We also present some of the results achieved across sectors to gain an in-depth understanding of the technique and a practical support of the implemented model. Our proposal is based on the lean manufacturing methodology; tools such as Single Minute Exchanges of Dies, Kaizen, 5S, and value stream mapping (VSM) will be used to reduce setup times and to impact machine layout and productivity positively. We also show the implementatio...

Past 1990, capitalism has developed a series of gears on its own and proper functioning as world-system, to renew as many times as you want in the face of a crisis that speculates its apocalyptic end. It is capital, first a decisive factor in production, and at the same time a power that does not obey any law on how things have been set and order in the world, it is like that, that the circumstances of the moment have been taken advantage of in some way by networks and economic knots capitalizers common goods. It is on this expansive molding of practical reasons that the economy puneña unfolds day by day, perhaps in the best way, where social relations, modes of production and local economic flows are sufficiently chained to fixed and concentrated economic growth rates in the primary sector, particularly, agricultural and mining, here, is where the big doses of world market strongly pre...

The information's management on the traceability of wood in Peru is complicated by multiple causes. In this article we present our project, which seeks to propose a technological model that allows greater efficiency in the management of timber information so that sawmills in Peru can improve their administration. Our proposed model allows us to appreciate a possible improvement in the time it takes to obtain information on the traceability of wood compared to the traditional way in which work continues in Peru. Also, in the investigation a prototype application of traceable information was developed. The main contribution of the research consists in the design of a technological model that serves as a reference to develop a technological solution for the traceability of wood in Peru.

Social imaginaries built around Advertising, from the audience and from advertising itself, undermine scopes, approaches and functions they have into society. This paper aims to present a critical and reflexive analysis of the Advertising’s current role in society, searching for a transformative structure that reveals the importance of research, both in academics and in the creative process behind successful advertising campaigns. It is an invitation to see Advertising with a less reductive view, as a discipline with its own knowledge and deep connections with social and human sciences that goes beyond a simple professional point of view, but does not ignore or exceed it.

The main objective of every Small and Medium Enterprise is to develop the ability to generate profits permanently over time; However, the Covid-19 pandemic significantly affected the global economy, generating an average reduction of 27% in global production and consumption, as well as a reduction in the use of labor, either due to reduced wages or reduction in working hours, which has had an impact on the increase in poverty. It is in this context that SMEs, with the aim of continuing to operate, implemented a strategy to reinvent themselves, which has been based on the greater use of the Internet and digital platforms with the aim of energizing their market or changing their line of business. , will thus develop activities in other areas or new services that did not exist before the moment of this reinvention.

The aviation sector has suffered the effects of the pandemic as the industry’s problems have become more evident due to operational constraints. The challenging and uncertain scenario has made the airline industry adapt its business to innovative alternatives based on efficient and digital strategies associated with the sector’s low productivity and the efficiency of each process. According to the reports, a series of failures were observed in the Maintenance Ad- ministrative Area, which is in charge of managing the work shifts of each technician in charge of aircraft maintenance, identifying that the most significant productivity problem in the area is based on the inefficient attention of requests to technical personnel. There- fore, a new model based on digital transformation was established by applying Business Process Management and Lean Manufactur- ing, in which the implementat...

Improvements in production systems that use the lean manufacturing approach known as “Lean” have the objective of eliminating or reducing waste or process inefficiencies (muda). This approach is increasingly adopted by different industrial sectors, including agriculture. Although Lean improvements are traditionally applied to existing processes from cultivation to distribution, opportunities to intervene in processing wastes (losses) are left aside. This article presents a methodological approach framed in five Lean principles, made up of six activities aimed at the design of new processes that make use of the losses generated by harvesting and agricultural transformation. The methodological approach is applied in a Colombian coffee farm where parchment coffee transformation processes are developed. A parallel losses composting process is designed that transforms defective, green, ov...

Abstract– Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) represent 90% of the companies incorporated in the world, their importance is such that they generate between 60% and 70% of employment and 50% of GDP; the Peruvian case is not different from this context since MSMEs generate 85% of employment and contribute 84% of GDP. These companies develop their productive and commercial activity in different economic sectors, including textiles and clothing; This sector, which represents 7.2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), concentrates approximately 700,000 workers and has been growing at average rates of 40% in recent years. However, despite the dynamism and importance of this sector, productivity is extremely low; This is due to different factors, one of these being human capital management; this factor is related to the deficient processes of selection, hiring and training of per...

Technological advances make more and more companies transform their manual processes into automated processes, increasing the speed and efficiency of their operations. That is the reason for this research, to test the benefits of automating the administrative processes of the Nuevavista condominium under study located in Peru, focusing on the management of reservations and incidents through the development of a mobile application following the mobile-d methodology. The article resorts to the use of a pre-experimental design with a sample of 279 for each process. The results indicate a 71% reduction in the time to register common area reservations and 69% in the time to register incidents, as well as a reduction in the number of people involved in both processes, which used to be two to four people, to one person, and finally, satisfaction levels were raised from 2 to 5 for the management...

Deforestation is one of the problems that is producing a significant impact on the environment in countries that have large extensions of forests such as Peru, caused by different factors such as paper consumption, whose increase in recent years has also generated an increase in the costs and times related to the management and transportation of physical documents. These physical processes were further affected due to the COVID-19 restrictions, having a significant negative impact on customer satisfaction due to some processes that required their presence at bank branches. According to recent research, 90% of financial institutions continue to maintain a traditional document management system that consists of printing, storing and consulting physical documents, due to the lack of culture and activities aimed at digitizing processes; however, this change is possible with a model oriented ...

Geophysical studies oriented to characterization play a very important role in providing a better understanding of the internal structure of the earth and specifically of a new study area and consequently being able to map its properties, its characteristics and the effects generated by the processes of geological alteration. This will finally generate a better geological - geophysical interpretation in the new study zone. In this research work the chargeability data registered in the time domain is being used, firstly the values registered through the 20 windows sampled in time are used and this decay curve obtained is the one used to determine the function transfer that expresses the behavior of the subsoil when applying a current and observing its chargeability. This transfer function is then used, and the Fourier transform is applied to decompose this new signal into its spectral val...

This work proposes a computational algorithm which extracts the frequency, timings and signal segments corresponding to respiratory phases, through buccal and nasal acoustic signal processing. The proposal offers a computational solution for medical applications which require on-site or remote patient monitoring and evaluation of pulmonary pathologies, such as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The state of the art presents a few respiratory evaluation proposals through buccal and nasal acoustic signals. Most proposals focus on respiratory signals acquired by a medical professional, using stethoscopes and electrodes located on the thorax. In this case the signal acquisition process is carried out through the use of a low cost and easy to use mask, which is equipped with strategically positioned and connected electret microphones, to maximize the proposed algorithm's performance. The al...

In these times of pandemic, the world has witnessed the power of connectivity, and many organizations have seen the need to rethink their models and even reinvent themselves in response to this new form of global connectivity. This transformation has also changed the way public organizations deliver services to citizens. Successfully driving the digital transformation process requires a leader with skills and knowledge. Leadership has been considered as a critical factor that impacts e-government. This paper presents the competences of those responsible for driving digital transformation (DT) in organizations. The results show that leadership is one of the most desired competences followed by technological knowledge, business vision, and customer orientation. These aspects must be considered as a fundamental basis, in any organization that takes on the challenge of this paradigm shift.
