The purpose of this paper is to help build bridges of dialogue between the cultural sector and the tourism sector, or more specifically, between professionals and institutions responsible for the conservation and management of cultural heritage, and professionals and institutions responsible for tourism management. To this end, it seeks to demonstrate the importance that the World Tourism Organization grants to cultural heritage, not only as a tourist resource, but also as a fundamental element for the identity of communities and for the achievement of a sustainable development, in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. To attain this, we use various sources, documents and reports that show this particular perspective from the field of tourism.

How to approach higher education for training in applied research in a "change of epoch" where knowledge has become a substantial asset to the generation of value in goods and services in organizations? What strategy should be implemented when its efficiency tends to be measured through mechanisms external to the research areas of the university? Two questions that allow, on the one hand, going the traditional way in which the university reiterates trivial mechanisms for engineering research training, and, on the other, the holistic -systemic-cybernetic- approach that promotes this same training in the context of complexity. This paper reviews the experience in the field of engineering, emphasizing the educational strategy aimed at achieving an insight of knowledge, where the university is facing increasing difficulty in setting the direction of the areas of applied research in engineeri...

In the present article we develop the ecology of the researcher within the framework of the trends of the new University Law 30220, regulations that state the quality of the university and the researcher subject, and its implication with its environment to develop scientific research. Every university professional has a scientific production role; however, this is often not possible to achieve due to a series of factors or phenomena that prevent the development of the scientific professional. The ecology of the researcher consists of the possibilities and virtues that he presents when he relates to human beings and their environment, this is manifested in the welfare state of the research subject in the academic world and his public and private life. The purpose is to analyze and describe the ecological aspects of the researcher to determine their scientific and philosophical profile. Th...

The purpose of the present article is to make a critical analysis to the dominant classic epidemiological positionthat explains health-disease duality from genetics and lifestyles. It talks about how political, economic, cultural, environmental and demographic structure are strongly influenced by the social determinant of health, related tosanitary inequities, which may pose barriers to the adoption of healthy lifestyles, especially to people in extremepoverty, armed conflict, disasters and other hard conditions, which are prevailing circumstances in low andmiddle income countries. It discusses the need to transcend the paradigm of health education which is highlyprescriptive and does not offer the expected results. The research is documentary, and was based on a journalisticliterature review. It concludes that it is necessary to transcend into a holistic paradigm to explain the healthdis...

Future time perspective extension is an individual's perception of the psychological distance between future goals. The concept of extension can be expanded to include how far into the future an individual habitual time space extends and the diffusion of goals within that time space. This alignment and distance may be related to the individual episodic future thinking, the pre-experiencing of future events. Research in FTP and EFT are typically siloed; considering both approaches to future thinking provides not only greater insight into the two constructs but may also provide avenues for developing interventions. Participants in this study (n = 13) were recruited from a scholarship program designed to provide them with financial support as they progress from community college to high-wage careers in science and engineering. Students were transitioning from two-year programs at local comm...

This research is a qualitative study, descriptive and documentary, and its purpose is to analyze and describe the ethical and epistemological trends and perspectives in scientific research. Ethics and epistemology in scientific research is a basic and fundamental need for science because of its philosophical dimension. Ethics is a theoretical discipline of philosophy that studies the principles that regulate the behavior and conduct of the human being, and epistemology studies the processes and results of scientific research. They are both considered as observers of the construction of science, meaning the validity or invalidity of the investigation. The position of ethics in research is a requirement that indicates compliance with the rigor, honesty, formalization and analysis of the field of study. This means that scientists must fulfill the responsibility, and objectivity of the theor...

In Peru there are great gender and intercultural gaps, particularly in the health sector. These gaps lead to discrimination, maternal and infant deaths, and mistreatment and dehumanization of medical attention. To improve the quality of healthcare, the SISTEC Program used workshops in gender and interculturality as its methodology, organizing 44 in 5 regions and training 837 healthcare professionals. Capitalizing this experience, a variety of factors to improve the results of these workshops stood out, such as the selection of participants, cultural adaptation and the methodology used. The workshops led to socio-cultural changes in both work and personal spheres, but their sustainability depends strongly on the institutionalization strategies used. In conclusion, trainings can be a useful methodology to drive sustainable appropriation of gender and intercultural perspectives, provided th...

Health literacy is associated with better health outcomes. Primary care professionals generally provide most of the care to patients and are also often the first point of contact for patients within a health system. This article discusses four strategies to promote health literacy in the primary care setting: 1) Improve the clinician’s communication skills, 2) Use e-Health tools, 3) Promote patient self-care, and 4) Develop support systems and care environments. These strategies are discussed in the context of the realities of low and middle income countries, as in the case of Peru.
