The goal of this study was to evaluate dissociation patterns between processing of linguistic prosody and emotional (or affective) prosody, in order to analyze the functional independence between them. We carried out a multiple single-cases study of 17 patients with right hemisphere lesions due to stroke. The alteration / conservation profiles of the ability to process both types of prosody were analyzed with four tasks of comprehension and repetition of emotional and linguistic prosody. The performance of each patient was compared with a healthy control group. The results showed a dissociated performance between emotional and linguistic prosody in prosodic comprehension in 3/17 patients, and no double dissociations were found. Complex coronary lesions represent challenging findings for percutaneous coronary intervention and potentially lead to complications during their approach. We present the case of a patient with decompensated heart failure of ischemic origin who presented multiple complex lesions on coronary angiography. The initial approach to the marginal artery was complicated by a severe coronary perforation that was satisfactorily resolved and in the second moment, a bifurcation lesion of the right coronary artery was successfully treated using the inverted Culotte technique.

Colon schwannoma is an extremely rare entity that may debut as a subepithelial lesion with ulceration signs, such as melena and anemia. Imaging studies guide us to localization, while a colonoscopy biopsy is not helpful. Many times, the diagnosis and treatment are made with lesion resection, and the final diagnosis is postoperatively made with histopathology and immunohistochemistry, which shows intense positivity for S100 and vimentin in tumor cells with a KI67 proliferation index of less than 1%, therefore, it is concluded that this is a benign lesion. We present this case due to its pre- and intraoperative diagnostic difficulty, non-specific symptoms, and its definitive diagnosis that was achieved with immunohistochemistry.

Intralobar bronchopulmonary sequestration consists of isolated non- functioning lung tissue that lacks normal communication to the tracheobronchial tree. It has systemic arterial supply and venous drainage to the pulmonary veins or the left atrium. Whereas extralobar sequestration is clearly congenital, intralobar sequestration may have a congenital or acquired origin and frequently presents in older children (usually older than 10 years old). We present the case of a 3 years old patient with recurrent attacks of basal right lung pneumonia. Intralobar pulmonary sequestration was confirmed by arteriogram. We must consider this lesion among the diagnostic approach to children with clinical and radiological findings suggestive of pneumonia and poor response to the administered antibiotics. The usefulness of different imaging techniques for the diagnosis is also addressed.

This work analyzes the injuries that are configured against the fundamental right to education in the context of armed conflicts. For this, a review is made of the scope and content of the fundamental right, as well as the situation of armed conflicts in this century, where some confrontations seem perennial. As such, it has been determined that armed conflicts and the damage they commit against the educational process end up affecting the entire educational community, with students bearing the brunt. This is the case of a 33 years old man with history of homosexual relations and heavy alcohol drinking. Tobacco, marijuana, cocaine, basic paste and cocaine hydrochloride consumption since age 18. Because of human immunodeficiency virus infection he received irregular treatment (2006-2008) with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAAT), regulated in the past 12 months. Thirty specimens were taken from a fish farm in Iquitos, Peru. The left branchial arches were placed in Petri dishes with distilled water to observe the presence of parasites and the right arches were fixed with formalin 5% for histopathological studies. El presente estudio, planteó como objetivo general determinar la frecuencia de lesiones musculoesqueléticas en docentes del colegio básico especial Beatriz Cisneros, Breña. El método empleado fue de tipo deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, investigación aplicada, diseño no experimental, sub diseño descriptivo simple, en el que estuvo conformado por 60 docentes.
