This study analyzes the psychometric structure of the CAPE- R scale, which assesses the beliefs about the educational process in rural teachers; explores the teacher´s profile, and analyzes the significant differences between the beliefs according to sociodemographic variables. The sample included 150 rural teachers from Mendoza, Argentina. The exploratory factor analysis yielded a factorial structure made up of four factors that explained a 44.19% of the variance of responses to the test. Internal consistency coefficients ranged from .74 to .85. The data show a predominance of difficulties in the educational process dimension (M=2.83; DE=.69), the only dimension that reached a significant association with the educational level of the classes (F =4.77, p<.05).

Este estudio se centra en la hidrogeoquímica de los sistemas kársticos de las cuencas andino-amazónicas. Se muestrearon 35 resurgimientos en el norte y en el centro de los Andes peruanos, distribuidos a lo largo de un fuerte gradiente altitudinal/climático/ecológico (400 a> 4000 m, <10 a> 20°C, <250 a> 4000 mm/año). El parámetro de primer orden que controla las tasas de alteración es la precipitación. La temperatura suficientemente baja en las altas altitudes permitiría que se disuelva más fácilmente el CO₂ (control termodinámico) y, por otro lado, el aumento de la pCO₂ del suelo debido a una vegetación más abundante en las bajas altitudes acrecentaría la fuente de acidez disponible para la alteración de los carbonatos. Este texto presenta una etnografía del sistema chamánico Urarina (Amazonia peruana). Para ello, se describen los elementos que caracterizan este sistema y su modo de distribución en el interior de un cuerpo de conocimientos tecnológicos y rituales que se desarrolla a partir de la función central que este pueblo atribuye a la manipulación de determinadas sustancias, tanto materiales -fluidos corporales, alimentos tintes vegetales- como inmateriales -pensamientos, recuerdos, cantos, etc. Además, el texto analizará las modalidades de acceso a la función chamánica, caracterizada por una cierta horizontalidad y la ausencia de restricciones respecto al género o la edad, así como por la libertad de compartir y difundir los conocimientos terapéuticos. This study investigated how advertisers from the creation area of large advertising agencies perceive and characterize their creative process. Thirteen Brazilian professionals were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed by content analysis. Results indicate that several stages of the creative process overlap, such as the incubation period of one job functioning as the preparation for the next. Motivating factors include pleasure of the act of creating, media visibility and its social reach. Limiting factors include the agencies’ excessive departmentalization, reduced deadlines, and the clients’ subjectivity influencing the advertisement approval.

This article sought to understand what displaced women, heads of families assisted by the Social Assistance of Brazil, understand about their displacement process and the State’s actions in regards to it. Through Critical Discourse Analysis it was identified that, although there are several causal attributions to displacement - such as environmental risk and violence - what really runs through the experiences of these women is an exclusionary urbanization, lived throughout the history of these families, which led them to occupy inadequate living spaces such as stream banks and unsuitable land, which ended up being risky and displacing the families in the medium term. Dancers experience daily pain that impacts their health, but the pain is mediated by coping with pain. We elaborated the Scale of Coping with Pain for Dancers (COPAIN-Dancer) based on the Motivational Theory of Coping with 12 categories of coping. This study presents the validity of the COPAIN-Dancer. The content analysis conducted judges reduced 118 items to 35, that were then administered to 386 Brazilian dancers between 10 and 19 years old (M=15.35; SD=3.36). Applying the Exploratory Factor Analysis, a low correlation resulted among the items that represent the 12 coping categories. However, after conducting Item Response Theory and Network Analysis, we obtained two factors: Adaptive Coping and Maladaptive Coping. The COPAIN-DANCER shows reliability and can be used in adolescent dancers.

The Truth Commission in Colombia was established based on the transitional justice model. Its function is to serve as a measure of recognition of the violent events during the armed conflict, which has left more than nine million victims. In this scenario, a descriptive correlational study (N=1166) was conducted with a sample of 22 provinces of the country to evaluate the knowledge, approval, and perceived effectiveness of the first years of the Commission from psychosocial aspects: victimization, collective emotions, reconciliation, collective memory. 58% were direct victims. The results indicate high levels of approval and disposition to participate in the Commission’s activities, as well as some skepticism about its usefulness and low confidence in the official apologies of the groups in conflict. This qualitative study aimed to understand the meanings attributed to Palliative Care and its implications for the anticipatory mourning process, from the perspective of family caregivers. Participants were 14 family members of patients in Palliative Care. Participant observation and semi-structured interviews were carried out. The data were analyzed and organized based on the Grounded Theory, using the Atlas.ti 7.5 software. The results showed the meanings attributed to Palliative Care marked by the impact of the treatment proposal, by the emergence of feelings and experiences, and traversed by the specific care requirements, the treatment, and the decision making, generating repercussions in the caregiver’s life. Les presentamos a continuación, un caso de nuestra investigación en el que los resultados obtenidos ilustran adecuadamente la dinámica capacitadora y la construcción de proyecto en una población estudiantil universitaria. El período estudiantil permite la transición de la adolescencia hacia la edad adulta, al igual que la transición de un estatus de practicante a la de un trabajador integrado en la red económica y social. El estudio presenta el proceso de adaptación y las evidencias de validez de la Escala de Estrés en Estudiantes para la realidad brasileña. Participaron del estudio 585 universitarios de instituciones brasileñas. Se realizaron análisis factoriales, habiéndose obtenido un modelo de cuatro factores, con alfas satisfactorios (síntomas fisiológicos: α=.82, relación profesoralumno: α=.80, incapacidad e inferioridad: α=.77 y ócio: α=.75), y adecuados índices de ajuste: x²=282.313 (p=.00); x²/df =1.73; TLI=.97; RMSEA=.05 (I.C.=.04-.06); CFI=.97. La escala presentó correlación positiva significativa (r = .60, p≤.01), así como buenos índices de sensibilidad (99.2%) y especificidad (89.6%) en relación a la Escala de estrés percebido.El instrumento contribuye a la ampliación de estudios sobre estrés en estudiantes universitarios.

El objetivo de este estudio fue describir el proceso por el cual se generaron los ítems de una escala de creencias en obesidad y cirugía bariátrica mediante métodos mixtos. Participaron 22 pacientes bariátricos, ecuatorianos entre 22 y 50 años (M = 37.5, DE = 8.91). Se construyó, validó y aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada; la información se procesó mediante análisis de contenido dirigido por las dimensiones del Modelo de creencias en salud. Las creencias variaron en función de características sociodemográficas y clínicas, particularmente edad, sexo, técnica quirúrgica y evolución.
