A case study of two adolescent mothers of the same age is presented (17 years old) withwhich it is intended to explore the maternal representations and mother-baby interactions, that is, the different ways of “being with” a baby. The study pretends to discuss that it is not adolescent motherhood in itself a risk factor, but other mediating variables such as support network and the reflective function with which each young mother counts. Maternal repre- sentations were assessed through a semi-structured interview about maternal representations (Traverso, 2006) and the mother-infant interactions were measured and filmed through the Mother-Infant Global Ratings for two and four months (Murray, Fiori-Cowley & Cooper,1996).

We performed an intervention program aimed at promoting a healthy relationship between teenage mothers and their babies, with 26 mothers between 15 and 19 years old, who have one son or daughter between 0 and 6 months old. They were from a poor area of Lima, Peru. The intervention was conducted in four groups, each of which had ten sessions. We assessed the interaction between mother and baby, the mother’s interpretation of emotions and the maternal representations (a description of the baby, of herself as a mother and of the relationship between them), before and after the program. The same evaluations were performed with a comparison group of 18 young mothers with the same characteristics. The article presents and discusses the results of both evaluations.

One of the research areas in mother-child health has focused on examining which are the signs inmothers' psychological functioning that would lead to a further disturbed development in an infant. The perspective of this paper has deviated from this research area. Natural observation of an infantduring his/her first year of life suggests that early mother-child affective bonding grows and strengthens progressively, even mother's behavior is not totally adequate. This article al so suggests that mother and child feed back each other in this early bonding.

The Peruvian version of the Infant Facial Expression of Emotions from Looking at Pictures (IFEEL), instrument that assessed the interpretation of emotions from children’s faces pictures is presented. The original version from Emde, Osofsky & Butterfield (1993) was developed in the United States and involves 30 stimuli. The Peruvian version involves 25 pictures of children with prototypic facial features of the majority of Peruvian population. A sample of 363 men and women of middle and low socio-economic status between 19 and 45 years old was recruited to develop the Peruvian version. From the results, a lexicon was created with the words that were used by the participants to designate the 14 groups of emotion that were obtained. The majority of these groups had an adequate reliability for temporal stability. Finally, it was found that the socio-economic status (SES) is a variable ...

This research had the following objectives: 1) to identify, thematize and describe the significant moments of a psychoanalytic process perceived by the patients as important for the psychic change, as well as to analyze their nature and the relations between them, and the different aspects of the psychoanalytic process; 2) to evaluate if the perspective of the users on the significant moments of the psychotherapeutic process associated to the change contributes to extend the understanding of the therapeutic action of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The project has a qualitative approach, since a subjective phenomenon was taken as information (Mortl & Gelo, 2015), such as the user’s perception and assessment of aspects related to the psychoanalytic process that are related to psychic change, and the narrative of the lived process. The results show 4 thematic axes with 18 sub-theme...
