Introduction: The criminalization of abortion in Peru poses ethical and legal dilemmas for healthcare professionals. Objective: To evaluate the factors associated with the reporting of induced abortions and to explore the perceptions of obstetrician-gynecologists. Methods: A sequential mixed-methods study was conducted, with a quantitative phase followed by a qualitative one. One hundred obstetrician-gynecologists participated via a structured questionnaire, and ten were interviewed in depth. Variables included type of healthcare facility, perceptions of the General Health Law (GHL), prior experience, and attitudes toward reporting. The purpose of the present investigation was to analyze the management of the corporate Identity of the National Uni-versity Pedro Ruiz Gallo; As an initial step, we analyzed the perceptions that teachers and administrative workers have about the management of corporate identity in the university and its effects on attitudes and behaviors. The tar-get population was all teachers and administrative appointed, year 2015. The study was conducted on a simple ran-dom sample of 149 teachers and 161 administrative workers, with a confidence level of 95% selected in a stratified manner. Women victims of sexual assault encounter several hurdles when seeking justice in Chilean legal institutions; however, recent efforts by the Chilean Supreme Court to fight bias against underrepresented groups have foregrounded the importance of applying a gender perspective in court trials. In light of the publication by the Chilean Supreme Court in 2019, I analyze the court ruling of a 2004 rape case that led Corporación Humanas?a feminist NGO?to file a petition before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Sexual street harassment is one of the most normalized types of gender violence in Peruvian society; however, little has been explored about its impact on the exercise of female citizenship. Using the case study of Villa El Salvador as a starting point, we analyse how this type of violence impacts on the capacity for agency of Salvadoran villa women, taking into account the parameters of Dhal's normative pluralism, which establishes minimum democratic conditions such as the possibility of (i) formulating preferences, (ii) publicly expressing preferences, and (iii) being treated equally in the political system. The category of welfare regime has been applied in critical contributions to the study of protection schemes in Latin American countries. This article reviews early debates in which this category was employed in the European context, and the transition to its application by Latin American researchers to study the cases of their own countries. The manner in which the perspective of welfare regimes and related conceptual tools were adapted to propose regional and local analyses of Latin America is also discussed. Starting with an analysis of how the Argentine case was understood, the approaches that characterized the regimes of the region as hybrid, incomplete, or embryonic are then analyzed and some possible vectors for a critical update are proposed. The theoretical review takes into account the considerable existing bibliography on Latin American welfare regimes.

Health literacy is associated with better health outcomes. Primary care professionals generally provide most of the care to patients and are also often the first point of contact for patients within a health system. This article discusses four strategies to promote health literacy in the primary care setting: 1) Improve the clinician’s communication skills, 2) Use e-Health tools, 3) Promote patient self-care, and 4) Develop support systems and care environments. These strategies are discussed in the context of the realities of low and middle income countries, as in the case of Peru.

The evolution of the world economy and national economies is marked by di- fferent types of cycles: long-term Kondratieff cycles, financial cycles and crises, classical economic cycles. They are related and somehow nested. Here through an analysis of the contributions in this regard and in honor of the work of Bruno Seminario, who addressed these issues for the Peruvian case. The downswings of the five global Kondratieff cycles are revealed to contain thirteen of the fourteen global recessions identified from the late nineteenth century to now. Objective. To approach higher agricultural education as a complex structure, explained by the functional relationships between the formative and the executive, under performance contexts that nestle in uncertainty and chaos. The systemic alternative is proposed as a way to reach new rationalities about what higher agricultural education, agronomic training and its professional configuration should be, through a critical and reflexive approach to its professional practices. Starting academic life represents a problem to new comers into higher education. This situation is aggravated in the case of students in art-related majors, as there is a pre-conception that these disciplines are oriented towards the development of artistic skills only. However, university life also implies the development of other skills related to academic life. Considering these difficulties, we present in this text some perspectives about the teaching of essay writing and research at university level. We propose that the content of the student’s major field of studies courses should be articulated with the research practice by means of writings that evidence the textualization of the artistic practice, knowledge that is valuable in the specialization.

Objectives: To determine women’s perspective on gender based violence as a factor of families’ impoverishment in Huanuco province. Design: Nonexperimental, descriptive, correlational, explanation study. Setting: Office of the Family, Women’s Emergency Center, Commissioner of Police, and NGO Peace and Hope. Participants: Women victims of family violence. Interventions: Between August and December 2008 we applied an interview guide, a questionnaire and a data collection sheet to a sample of 200 women victims of family violence.
