This article searches about those places that have been perpetuated, not by an official recognition, but under the popular memory and however they actually conserve a high symbolic value for a determined part of the community. Such is the case of the Ciudad Deportiva de Boca settled in the south coast of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the 60 of the XX century, it wasnot only a place for popular recreation and social affairs but also a project and a plural dream around one of the most important football club of this country. From that dreamed Ciudad Deportiva, nowadays only remains ruins and a private project of real state development. The changes in this place along the time show the constant and unavoidable relation between the urban spaces and the political processes.

The idea of this article is to inquire about the different dimensions of the public space and explore which of the potential perspectives we have to take in consideration when you have to work in it. The city of Buenos Aires is taken as a model. In the last years, the local government has been building several public spaces improving its performance and quality standards. However, nowadays, another perspective is needed to observe the public space and appreciate the real problems of the citizens.

En este artículo se indaga sobre los lugares perpetuados por la memoria popular que no son reconocidos oficialmente y que sin embargo revisten un alto valor simbólico para una determinada comunidad. Tal es el caso de la Ciudad Deportiva de Boca ubicada en la costanera sur de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, que en la década de los 60 del siglo XX se constituyó no solo en un sitio de concentración y esparcimiento popular sino también en un proyecto y sueño colectivo alrededor de uno de los clubes de fútbol más importantes del país. De aquella Ciudad Deportiva hoy solo quedan ruinas y un proyecto privado de desarrollo inmobiliario.
