Introduction: Mechanical ventilation is a cornerstone in the management of critically ill patients worldwide; however, less is known about the clinical management of mechanically ventilated patients in low and middle income countries where limitation of resources including equipment, staff and access to medical information may play an important role in defining patient-centred outcomes. This letter to the editor addresses the importance of informed consent in obstetric care in Peru. It highlights that, despite being legislated, many women do not receive adequate information for effective informed consent in practice, especially during labor. This omission affects the physical and emotional health of mothers and neonates and undermines trust in the healthcare system. Factors such as lack of training among medical staff, cultural and linguistic barriers, paternalistic practices, and the misconception of labor as an emergency contribute to this situation. Stress and burnout are global epidemics that may cause negative consequences for workers and organizations. Social workers of residential child care are especially at risk, due to the inherent characteristics of their work. Subsequently, this study aimed to analyse these professional’s stress, cognitive appraisal, and burnout. The sample included 92 social workers (90.2% female and 9.8% male) with ages between 25 and 64 years old (M = 38.08; SD = 7.91). The evaluation protocol included a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Stress Questionnaire for Health Professionals, the Primary and Secondary Cognitive Appraisal Scale, and the Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure. COVID-19 evidenced the need for preventive protocols to control its spread worldwide. Therefore, the purpose of this review was to compare the current indications and regulations for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in dental care. For the bibliographic search, keywords such as “Containment of Biohazards”, “Personal Protective Equipment”, “dental office”, “COVID-19” were used during the advanced search in Pubmed and academic Google. Objective: Describe the actions carried out by the National Maternal Perinatal Institute, regarding access to health services for the care of women for therapeutic abortion. Material and Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study. All the files of requests for therapeutic abortion that were attended at the National Maternal-Perinatal Institute during the periods from January to December 2019 and 2020 were reviewed. Results: 117 and 59 requests for therapeutic abortion were attended during the 2019 and 2020 periods respectively. Pese a los avances normativos en Argentina en materia de derechos sexuales y reproductivos, las personas trans y LGB continúan enfrentando múltiples barreras en el acceso efectivo a servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva (SSR). Esta revisión narrativa, basada en 27 estudios empíricos publicados entre 2020 y 2025, identifica obstáculos estructurales, institucionales y socioculturales que limitan la utilización, la calidad y la continuidad de la atención. Objetivo: el presente estudio tendrá como objetivo evaluar el nivel de conocimiento teórico-práctico y describir las prácticas habituales del personal de enfermería en el cuidado del paciente portador de cánula de traqueostomía en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Antonio Lorena – Cusco 2024. Despite the measures implemented worldwide, the spread of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is on the rise, which is why it is important to know the characteristics of the disease, as well as different considerations to take into account in dental clinical management. This pandemic obliges all health professionals to know their epidemiological characteristics, in order to generate preventive measures and care protocols that are necessary and important in these cases, respecting the biosafety regulations in order to avoid contagions between patient-professionals and professionals-patients. In the dental area, most clinical procedures are related to the direct contact of aerosols, which are a considerable source of contamination, which is why in this work a review of the epidemiological aspects of COVID-19 and the care to be taken in dental care.
