A correlational type investigation was carried out evaluating 145 patients with covid-19 sepsis. Objectives: To determine whether hypoalbuminemia is a predictor of mortality and to identify the serum albumin value most frequently related to lethality. Method: Patients older than or equal to 18 years seen at Hospital II Chocope during May to August 2020 were included. Patients with oncological pathologies and incomplete medical records were excluded. The documentary analysis technique was used, by reviewing medical records. Results: There was a statistically significant association between hypoalbuminemia and mortality (p = 0.00), patients with hypoalbuminemia had 3 times the risk of dying. (OR = 3.97 95% CI). Likewise, the highest sensitivity and specificity of the test was when the cut-off point for hypoalbuminemia was 1.38 g / dl. Finally, the most frequent comorbidity was arterial hyp...

El objetivo principal de este trabajo de investigación es determinar cuál es la relación que existe entre los Hábitos de Estudios y el Aprendizaje de los Cadetes de cuarto año de Infantería de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos ¨CFB¨, año 2024. El método de investigación presenta un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental y una población de 84 cadetes de 4to año del arma de Infantería de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos; El cuestionario se utiliza para determinar los objetivos del estudio. ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the main epidemiological factors, methods of diagnosis and treatment of retinoblastoma in children of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital. Methods: A retrospective and descriptive study, clinical histories were reviewed, 25 patients with bilateral retinoblastoma were obtained. Descriptive statistics were used for the presentation and analysis of the results. Results: Predominance in preschoolers and males, leucocoria more frequent sign. Conclusion: In addition to what was mentioned in the results, it is more common diagnosis in advanced stages, most received systemic chemotherapy, more than 50% also focal therapy and 44% preserved unilateral vision. The marking or tagging of turtles is a widely used to facilitate the monitoring of population demography, structure, and conservation of species. Even though they are used in many studies of turtle demography, the available methods are not very efficient, except for microchips (Passive Intergraded Transponder/PIT tags); however, the latter is too expensive to be used on a large scale. Here we present a viable, cost-effective tagging alternative that uses a durable plastic cattle tag and pin. Turtles in the genus Podocnemis were tagged in the Lower-Amazon region, west of the state of Pará, Amazon, Brazil. Objective: To describe the most frequent pathogenic agents identified in neonatal meningitis in Peru. Material and methods: Descriptive, comparative, cross-sectional study based on data bases from PubMed and SciELO, using the key words “Neonatal”, “Meningitis” and “Perú”, and from virtual repositories of medical schools in Peru, with the key words “Neonatal” and “Meningitis”, between 2001 and 2021. Two independent reviewers assessed the articles’ titles and abstracts to be included. The research presented shows a malacological survey of Cienfuegos' southern area, from “Rancho Luna” beach to the mouth of the “Arimao River”. The malacological studies ranged from January 2018 to December of the same year. During the research, eight biotopes were selected in the area to be studied, and the presence of 52 species of marine gastropods, belonging to seven orders and 16 families, where the Sorbeoconcha order has the highest number of species was found. The best represented families were Neritidae and Littorinidae, with eight species, respectively. Introduction: Critical illness myopathy (CIM) and polyneuropathy (CIP) are the most common cause of acquired weakness in intensive care units (ICU). However, its exact pathogenesis remains unclear. Abnormal excitability of muscle due to a sodium channelopathy is one of the mechanisms proposed. The aim of this study is to test for the presence of anti-ganglioside antibodies in serum from patients with CIM or both combined CIM/CIP, since there is evidence that they can cause reversible dysfunction of voltage-gated sodium channels.Methods: In a prospective way, we studied 35 patients admitted in ICU by weekly EMG. When positive spontaneous activity (PSA) was detected, a muscle biopsy was performed. Twenty patients met criteria of CIM; five of them also developed overlapping CIP.
