Healthy eating is a key determinant of physical, mental, and social well-being, particularly during adolescence, when dietary habits become consolidated and strongly influence cognitive and academic development. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and dietary practices of students in the fourth and fifth grades at the Emblematic Boys’ School “Daniel Hernández”, located in Pampas, Huancavelica (Peru), and to propose strategies to promote healthy eating within the school context. The research followed a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive–comparative design. Pre- and post-surveys were administered to 111 students to diagnose their level of nutritional awareness and identify the main factors influencing their eating behaviors. Results showed that 38.39% of participants demonstrated adequate knowledge about healthy eating, whereas 29.46% exhibited limited ...

Introduction. Eating disorders (EDs) are a public health problem, and their relationship to mass media is still controversial. Objective. To assess whether there is an association between models of body image shown in mass media and the risk of developing EDs among female adolescent students from Lima, Peru. Methodology. Cross-sectional study conducted in three schools located in the district of La Victoria, Lima, Peru. The risk of developing EDs was measured using the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26), while mass media influence was measured using the Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Questionnaire-3 (SATAQ-3), which was categorized into tertiles both in the overall score and its subscales (information, pressure, general internalization, and athletic internalization). The present research project aims to demonstrate that the installation of a trout fillet on vegetable cream ready to eat plant is economically and technologically viable. A market study was developed for this project and a potential market was obtained with acceptance of a product derived from trout, which represents 174 109 units of product for the first year After this analysis, the possible installation sites of the plant were evaluated, to start production, which is detailed in the plant location chapter. From which, the city of Huancayo, in the industrial district of El Tambo, was obtained as an optimal location. Then, the engineering analysis was developed to determine the ideal technology for the project (machines, equipment, production program and the maximum capacity of the plant), to evaluate the possibility of meeting the demand found. Based on this, the total area of the land...

Eating Behavior Disorder (ED) is a worrying psychological problem since there is a high prevalence in adolescents, with anorexia nervosa and bulimia being more prevalent. It has been shown that among the factors that predispose to the development of eating disorders is the parental bond. Thus, the present study sought to determine the relationship between attachment and ED in adolescents. For this purpose, a search was conducted using the recommendations of the PRISMA guide (Page et al., 2021). The databases consulted were Scopus, Ebsco, Dialnet and ProQuest. Ten articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria to be analyzed. As a result, it was found that 9 articles identified a positive correlation between insecure attachment and ED; however, 5 of them needed mediating variables to explain this relationship. Additionally, in the remaining article no relationship was fo...

The aim of this theoretical article was analyze the possible relationship between the use of social networks and the development of anorexia in adolescents from 10 to 19 years old through a systemic and cognitive-behavioral approach. The concept of Anorexia Nervosa (AN), which is included within the eating disorders (ED), was described and the social networks most usedby this age range were studied. It is concluded about the significant relationship between the development of AN, and the use of social networks. The body changes in adolescents, as the needfor approval of their identity by their environment, place them in a situation of vulnerability. Although the social networks can be a factor for a positive validation, they could constitute a riskfactor that triggers an ED, particularly AN, in adolescents.

Eating disorders (EDs), which are characterized by symptoms associated with eating such as food restriction or excessive food intake; and traumatic experiences (TE) which are adverse experiences perceived as particularly transgressive, are frequently reported multi-causal phenomena, being of great relevance for mental health and clinical psychology. The present applied review aimed to identify the relationship between both psychological variables, in adolescent and adult population. Consequently, a review of the Scopus, Web of Science and SpringerLink databases was carried out, selecting 10 empirical articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicate that there is a relationship between both variables, specifically, the literature relates TEs to the development of eating disorders symptomatology related to purging and binging, and even more when it comes to trau...

In their 2022 report, the World Health Organization (WHO) informed that by 2019 near one of five persons suffering from an Eating Disorder were minors. Since then, it has been documented that many adolescents start and finish their days reviewing contents in social media, which promote an unobtainable beauty ideal as well as nutritional information. This study aimed to identify the relationship between social media exposure and ED symptoms among adolescents. A literature search was conducted in five data bases following some PRISMA parameters, including 10 articles, fulfilling inclusion and exclusion criteria. A positive correlation between social media exposure and ED symptomatology in adolescents was found, with a similar frequency in males and females. We conclude that comparison of body image in social media induces cognitive and behavioral symptoms related to ED. The most commonly d...

Eating disorders (EDs) are a mental health problem, the complexity of which requires a greater focus of attention in their treatment. In recent years, treatments for eating behavior have been developed, including Mindfulness. The present study aims to review the empirical evidence of Mindfulness in the treatment of ED. ED are mental illnesses of great relevance in the field of physical and mental health, as they have a great impact on people's quality of life and are increasingly common. Their incidence has increased from 3.4% to 7.8% of the population in the last 20 years (Galmiche et al., 2019). In Peru, between 7% and 11% of adolescents may present an ED (Chumpitaz, 2020). Studies suggest a significant relationship between self-esteem and ED. The present study seeks to describe the impact of self-esteem on the development of ED in adolescents and young adults. This information has been collected through an applied review process using the PRISMA search strategy. The data sources reviewed are: Proquest and Scopus. The results of the research indicate that self-esteem can be a risk or protective factor for the development of ED, being determinant the degree of self worth that the individual has about ...
