This article proposes a classification for socio-cultural and linguistic data bases, especially those that document society, culture and language of Amazonian indigenous or rural mestizo people. The proposal was elaborated in the context of a DOBES language documentation project about the language use of the “People of the Center” (Bora, Witoto, Ocaina, Nonuya, and Resigaro). The basic principles of this proposal are derived from Bakhtin's/Vološinov's theory of the proposition.

Due to the recurring problem presented in the students regarding their academic performance, an application of neural networks was developed with the aim of helping the teacher, since it is capable of giving results of the final grades of the students and will help the teacher to understand the reason for the results, since this neural network takes into account different factors that lead the student to have a passing or failing grade. To obtain the results, we worked on the training of the neural network through the classification model which shows in the result the number of approved or disapproved students and the other regression model which predicts a student's grade given the characteristics of their initial survey, both models were of great help in predicting the behavior of the data.

This research aims to enhance the classification of the rock mass in underground mining, a common problem due to geological alterations that do not fit existing methods. Artificial neural networks are proposed as a solution, which use input/output data to learn and solve problems. The process involves gathering data on rock properties and training the neural networks to identify and classify various types of rock. Once trained, the neural networks can classify the rock mass in real-time during mine design and progression, adapting to different rock types with a low margin of error of 0.279% in determining the RMR index. This research overcomes the limitations of current classification methods, providing a more accurate and reliable solution for the classification of the rock mass in underground mining. In summary, artificial neural networks are utilized to improve the classification of r...

This project focuses on developing an NLP-based text analysis tool to evaluate Android app user feedback, specifically collected from F-Droid. The lack of an automated solution to analyze and understand these opinions, classifying them into specific topics, motivates research. The goal is to provide developers, users, and data analysts with a detailed view of user preferences and perceptions. Using data sets in English between 2014 and 2017, the proposal is implemented in Python with the Pandas library. The BERT model is used for classification, with a specific focus on the comparison of different models. The graphical interface is built in Visual Studio, allowing users to enter comments and obtain topic rankings, along with word cloud visualizations.

Forest census allows getting precise data for logging planning and elaboration of the forest management plan. Species identification blunders carry inadequate forest management plans and high risks inside forest concessions. Hence, an identification protocol prevents the exploitation of non-commercial or endangered timber species. The current Peruvian legislation allows the incorporation of non-technical experts, called “materos”, during the identification. Materos use common names given by the folklore and traditions of their communities instead of formal ones, which generally lead to misclassifications. In the real world, logging companies hire materos instead of botanists due to cost/time limitations. Given such a motivation, we explore an end-to-end software solution to automatize the species identification. This paper introduces the Peruvian Amazon Forestry Dataset, which includ...

Nowadays, the increasing amount of information provided by hyperspectral sensors requires optimal solutions to ease the subsequent analysis of the produced data. A common issue in this matter relates to the hyperspectral data representation for classification tasks. Existing approaches address the data representation problem by performing a dimensionality reduction over the original data. However, mining complementary features that reduce the redundancy from the multiple levels of hyperspectral images remains challenging. Thus, exploiting the representation power of neural networks based techniques becomes an attractive alternative in this matter. In this work, we propose a novel dimensionality reduction implementation for hyperspectral imaging based on autoencoders, ensuring the orthogonality among features to reduce the redundancy in hyperspectral data. The experiments conducted on the...

This work proposes a semi-automated analysis and modeling package for Machine Learning related problems. The library goal is to reduce the steps involved in a traditional data science roadmap. To do so, Sparkmach takes advantage of Machine Learning techniques to build base models for both classification and regression problems. These models include exploratory data analysis, data preprocessing, feature engineering and modeling. The project has its basis in Pymach, a similar library that faces those steps for small and medium-sized datasets (about ten millions of rows and a few columns). Sparkmach central labor is to scale Pymach to overcome big datasets by using Apache Spark distributed computing, a distributed engine for large-scale data processing, that tackle several data science related problems in a cluster environment. Despite the software nature, Sparkmach can be of use for local ...

Previous applications of machine learning in remote sensing for the identification of damaged buildings in the aftermath of a large-scale disaster have been successful. However, standard methods do not consider the complexity and costs of compiling a training data set after a large-scale disaster. In this article, we study disaster events in which the intensity can be modeled via numerical simulation and/or instrumentation. For such cases, two fully automatic procedures for the detection of severely damaged buildings are introduced. The fundamental assumption is that samples that are located in areas with low disaster intensity mainly represent nondamaged buildings. Furthermore, areas with moderate to strong disaster intensities likely contain damaged and nondamaged buildings. Under this assumption, a procedure that is based on the automatic selection of training samples for learning and...

The classification of a real text should not be necessarily treated as a binary or multi-class classification, since the text may belong to one or more labels. This type of problem is called multi-label classification. In this paper, we propose the use of latent semantic indexing to text representation, convolutional neural networks to feature extraction and a single multi layer perceptron for multi-label classification in real text data. The experiments show that the model outperforms state of the art techniques when the dataset has long documents, and we observe that the precision is poor when the size of the texts is small.

The flow of information arises every day through the internet continuously thanks to the constant interactions between users, these interactions are presented in comments that can be positive or negative. This can help a lot to the service offered by Amazon on their products to understand if this' in good condition or not, so that its users of the platform can be convinced when buying a product, and is that, if these are a large number, an analysis made by one person is not enough. This requires the use of tools that operate with large amounts of data such as (name of data processing), which is a model that helps the analysis of classification of comments based on what users express. In this paper we will use' this model for the classification of Amazon product reviews, rating these reviews based on their description. It will also make use of metrics and future suggestions for the propos...

Social connectedness is a set of cognitions and representations about oneself in relation to others that translates into a feeling of closeness and belonging to the social environment in which the individual is immersed and towards the people who are part of it. The relationship between social connection, mental health and general well-being has been widely evidenced, so its assessment is extremely important in contexts of clinical intervention as well and research. Based on this, the present work aimed to present the normative scores of the Social Connectedness Scale in Argentinean adults and provide classification criteria. The scale was administered to 1305 Argentineans between 18 and 60 years old, and we proposed norms by age, considering that significant differences were found between groups according to this variable. The 25th and 75th percentiles were proposed as classification cr...

This research was carried out because of the communication barriers that currently exist between hearing impaired and hearing people. These barriers hinder their integration into society and affect their interpersonal relationships. The objective of the study was to propose the development of a stationary assistive robot capable of displaying sign language interpretation through the combination of data gloves and the D- CNN and LSTM algorithm to facilitate the communication of hearing-impaired children in Huancayo. The triple diamond research design was used, where the mind map and the lotus diagram were used for the delimitation and definition of the problem. In addition, the IDEF0 technique was used to obtain a structured design of the project system. A morphological matrix was also used to choose the best solution for the problem. The chosen design contemplates the use of an Arduino U...

Introduction. Giardiasis is caused by an intestinal protozoan, Giardia lamblia. Despite its high prevalence and geographical transmission variability, there is no risk stratification tool available to prioritize interventions. Objective. To estimate the prevalence of G. lamblia in Peruvian preschoolers and schoolchildren by ecoregion from 1990 to 2018. Methods. Based on a previous meta-analysis, we conducted a G. lamblia prevalence sub-analysis by ecoregions from data of 26 studies in Peruvian preschoolers and school-aged children between 1990 and 2018. The data was extracted by district, a classification by ecoregions was made through Google Earth. Heterogeneity was analyzed using Cochrane Q test and publication bias applying the Egger method with StatsDirect version 3.2.7. The absolute risk method was performed to stratify the prevalence at district level, and 4 strata were defined bas...

This study describes a model of explanations in natural language for classification decision trees. The explanations include global aspects of the classifier and local aspects of the classification of a particular instance. The proposal is implemented in the ExpliClas open source Web service [1], which in its current version operates on trees built with Weka and data sets with numerical attributes. The feasibility of the proposal is illustrated with two example cases, where the detailed explanation of the respective classification trees is shown.
