The research work is based on the analysis of demand in a tourism company using mathematical models. The methodology design presents a correlational and descriptive scope where the company's sales are collected to calculate the mean absolute percentage error in demand. With the help of machine learning tools, a predictive analysis will be carried out to estimate the sales for the following year, seeking to reduce the error using one of the selected mathematical models, calculate the necessary sales force, and thereby reduce the economic impact equivalent to $16 789,02. The MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) in the tourism sector is 12,03%. Through calculations using Python and RISK, a value of 15, 36% was obtained, reducing the MAPE by 4,24% compared to the year 2022. The Systematic Review of the Literature allows us to showcase the tools that can be developed in similar or atypical s...

The objective of the research work is to reduce the stock of a company in San Martín, Peru, that offers the installation service of solar thermal heaters. First, a brief description is presented, the background of the organization and an evaluation of the company's indicators to find the problem under study. With this we find the technical gap of 31.11% during the year 2022, which was calculated with the difference of 47.78% of stock outage cases of the company studied compared to 16.67% of a trading Mype found within the analysis of 40 articles scientists. Subsequently, the design of the solution is proposed linking the root causes with the ABC Classification, Material Requirements Planning and Economic Order Quantity. The latter were analyzed and the positive contribution to the solution of the problem was concluded. Subsequently, the development of the proposal is known in detail, de...

The present research aims to conduct an analysis and diagnosis of issues using Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce errors and lead times in the finishing department of a plastic products company. In response to the identified issues, several improvement proposals have been formulated through the application of Lean Manufacturing tools. Therefore, by implementing Poka Yoke, VSM, and SMED technique, the anticipated outcomes include a reduction in processing times, improved task distribution, and a decrease in improperly assembled products. Likewise, with the proposed designs and implementations, it will be possible to create a more organized work environment, leading to better resource management and, consequently, a more efficient product assembly. On the economic side, a significant increase in income could be seen. The reduction in production costs, facilitated by improvements in efficie...

By the end of 2022, the construction sector in Peru had experienced a growth of 6.02%, consequently benefiting the brick industry as well. This research focuses on studying a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) facing productivity challenges that compromise its profitability and competitiveness. Periodic visits were conducted to the company to gather data. The main issues were identified using a Pareto diagram, including excessive production time, human error, unplanned machinery downtime, and reprocessing, with the first three being the most remarkable. Root causes of each problem were identified to link them to solutions based on Lean Manufacturing principles, such as TPM, SMED, Poka Yoke and activity standardization. Improvement proposals were suggested and validated through simulation in Arena, yielding positive results, such as a 7-hour reduction in total production time, a 40% ...

This research addresses two relevant topics for industrial engineering: master production plans (dependent variable) and uncertainty (independent variable). The latter constitutes a critical impact factor in the manufacturing sector. For the investigation, we collected articles related to these variables to establish the state of affairs in the specialized literature. We searched for information in two indexed databases, Scopus and ProQuest, and filtered it using inclusion and exclusion criteria derived from the PRISMA method. We identified sixteen scientific journal articles of interest for the investigation at the end of the process. These studies show essential data about the variables described and additional variables that influence uncertainty and that, in some way, impact the preparation of master production schedules in the manufacturing sector.
