When we refer to pain, we are faced with an unpleasant sensation that causes certain reactions in the human body that prevent its production, so it is of vital importance to understand what the symptomatology of pain is, how it is produced and how it can be avoided. production, there are cases where the pain becomes pathological where found in the patient's thoughts, therefore the present work tries to demonstrate that its production can be avoided in the face of intense painful situations that occur when working in the recovery of the mobility of the patient. articulation of the knee, which by its nature is painful, added to the fear of feeling pain on the part of the patient does not help the patient's recovery, the experimentation consists of taking the pain from the approach of not thinking about it and relaxing and evaluating it by an environment of cerebral analysis through the lev...

Business sustainability has become a global imperative in response to the environmental, social, and economic challenges facing our world. In this context, the measurement and evaluation of business sustainability have become crucial to guide the actions of organizations towards more responsible and sustainable practices. However, the lack of specific measurement instruments for specific regional contexts may limit the ability of companies to evaluate and improve their sustainability performance. In this paper, we present the design of a business sustainability measurement method adapted to the context of Tarma, Peru. Tarma, a region located in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, is characterized by its cultural, environmental, and economic diversity, making it a unique context to address business sustainability. This article proposes a method for measuring business sustainability based on ...

Edge detection is a digital image processing tool. It determines points in a digital image where light intensity suddenly changes. This process applies to a digital image which assumes some degree of uncertainty in the location and intensity of the pixel in the real image. In this work, we propose an edge detection model which consists in capturing this uncertainty in terms of interval images. Then we apply interval-valued fuzzy morphology to calculate the interval-valued erosion and dilation. Finally, we compute the convex combinations of the upper and lower bounds of the interval-valued erosion and dilation image, to obtain a morphological erosion and dilation respectively, and thus an edge image.

In this paper, we have performed a closed-form calculation of the radiation pattern of a base station antenna by using Ad Hoc Bessel-Fourier expansion. Once the coordinates system is fixed, we proceed to derived the magnetic potential vector underlining the complex part which is subsequently expanded in a Bessel-Fourier series. Since the radiation intensity is proportional to the square of the polar component of electric field, we used the well-known relation vec{E} \approx \vec{\nabla}\times \vec{\nabla} \times \vec{A} It gives capabilities to apply antenna data to the resulting closed-form expression for obtaining numerical estimations of the possible exposure levels. For this end, we measured the specific absorption radiation (SAR) to evaluate and discard possible effects of contamination by antenna radiation in the vicinity of the emission source. For a source of 2.0 GHz and 1.5 Vm-1...

Inertial kinetics and kinematics have substantial influences on human biomechanical function. A new algorithm for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-based motion tracking is presented in this work. The primary aims of this paper are to combine recent developments in improved biosensor technology with mainstream motion-tracking hardware to measure the overall performance of human movement based on joint axis-angle representations of limb rotation. This work describes an alternative approach to representing three-dimensional rotations using a normalized vector around which an identified joint angle defines the overall rotation, rather than a traditional Euler angle approach. Furthermore, IMUs allow for the direct measurement of joint angular velocities, offering the opportunity to increase the accuracy of instantaneous axis of rotation estimations. Although the axis-angle representation requi...

The present study proposes a method of automatic detection of tuberculosis (TB) bacilli from digital images of Ziehl Neelsen sputum smear baciloscopy. The method is based on an algorithm that aims to automate the interpretation of optical microscopic images of sputum smears. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a specialist can not analyze and process more than 20 samples per day (in order to not affect the analysis sensitivity and commit errors in diagnosis). Therefore, an automated tool as the proposed here, is an important contribution to the current efforts to fight tuberculosis. The algorithm is based on geometric eccentricity of ellipses and improvement of RGB component tones. Correspondence functions adjusted to sample preparation conditions were applied in order to improve the RGB primary component tones of the image. This allows to obtain an adequate segmentation of...

The current study relates to designing a swarming computational paradigm to solve the influenza disease system (IDS). The nonlinear system’s mathematical form depends upon four classes: susceptible ndividuals, infected people, recovered individuals and cross-immune people. The solutions of the IDS are provided by using the artificial neural networks (ANNs) together with the swarming computational paradigm-based particle swarm optimization (PSO) and interior-point scheme (IPA) that are the global and local search approaches. The ANNs-PSO-IPA has never been applied to solve the IDS. Instead a merit function in the sense of mean square error is constructed using the differential form of each class of the IDS and then optimized by the PSOIPA. The correctness and accuracy of the scheme are observed to perform the comparative analysis of the obtained IDS results with the Adams solutions (ref...

Sensing drug substances by nanostructures are very important in accordance with the management of targeted drug delivery processes and drug substances detections. Boron nitride (BN), aluminum nitride (AlN), and gallium nitride (GaN) decorated carbon cage (BN-C, AlN-C, and GaN-C) scaffolds were assessed towards sensing the thiamazole (TMZ) drug through the wB97XD/6–31 + G* level of density functional theory (DFT) computations. The singular models were optimized and their combinations to each other were stabilized to obtain the interacting TMZ@Scaffold bimolecular complexes and their corresponding features. The results indicated the existence of non-covalent physical interactions between the substances and their electronic features indicated possibility of sensing function for the investigated scaffolds. Based on the variations of values of adsorption energy and energy gap, the features ...

We presented a generalization of the delay-and-sum beamforming based on the Dirac-Delta functions but with nonlinear argument. For this end, a closed-form expression of the beampattern mathcal{B}(r)=\sum\nolimits-{k,q}w(k,q,r)x(k,q,r) with r = r(θ), was derived. This expression is computationally simulated through an algorithm that includes integer-order Bessel input functions and random noise. The 4M+N model parameters provided by the Dirac-Delta method are extracted by using a Monte-Carlo-like step which selects the best values for B(r) minimizing the Monte-Carlo error for Δθ = 0.5% for the case of beam response of θ0=30 degrees. These results might sustain the fact that beamforming techniques can use Dirac-Delta functions for modeling arrival signal even in those cases where strong nonlinearity is involved.

The purpose of the present paper is to improve the global convergence results established so far concerning the Augmented Lagrangian Algorithm with exponential penalty function for solving nonlinear programming problems with equality and inequality constraints. We prove global convergence for KKT points under the PAKKT-regular constraint qualifications, which results as a consequence that accumulation points generated by the algorithm are PAKKT points. This convergence result is new for the augmented Lagrangian Method based on the exponential penalty function. An interesting consequence is that the estimates of the Lagrange multipliers computed by the method remain bounded in the presence of the quasi-normality condition. Finally we give optimality and feasibility results for the convex case.

Social impact assessment (SIA) has become an important factor for social conflicts prevention. In this study, we conducted SIA using the center-point triangular whitenization weight functions (CTWF) method, which is based on grey systems theory. A case study was conducted on a hydrocarbon exploration project located in the Gulf of Valencia, Spain. Two stakeholder groups and four evaluation criteria were identified. The results revealed that for the group of the directly linked population, the project would have very negative social impact; and for the group of indirectly linked citizens, the project would have negative social impact. The results could help central and community governments to make the best decision on the project. The method showed interesting results and could be apply to SIA of other projects or programs.

Spermidine is a polyamine compound found in fruits, vegetables, meats and milk products. It is also known for its role as a modulator of functions for DNA, RNA, nucleotide triphosphates and proteins. Some recent experimental studies have shown that it has an inhibitory function on the protein related to the pathogenesis of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (MBNL‐1), providing some hope in relation to this disease presently without cure. However these studies have not provided sufficient information to explain its inhibitory role. In the present work, the existing interaction between spermidine and the MBNL‐1 protein has been confirmed by computational chemistry. The quantum mechanics analysis was carried out with the CAM‐B3LYP density functional, using a TZVP basis set. For the molecular mechanics, the OPLS‐AA force field was used, followed immediately by the solvation of the MBNL‐1 pr...

The influence of family and school on the level of independence of pre-school children is a fundamental aspect of integral development in early ages. This study has a quantitative descriptive approach. The aim of this study was to know the degree of Functional Independence in pre-school children in Cuenca (Ecuador). The participants were 30 children (3-5 years old), 15 from a public institution and 15 from a private one. The Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory Computer Adaptive Test (PEDICAT) was used as an evaluation tool, which measures the level of independence in 4 areas. The results showed that the children from the private institution were more independent in the areas of Daily and Social Cognitive Activities; while in the area of Mobility and Responsibility both groups obtained the same level. These data served as a basis to develop a parent working guide, in which activi...
