Nectarivorous birds (hummingbirds, flowerpiercers, and conebills) and their floral resources in an elfin forest of the central Andes of Peru (Unchog, Carpish Mountains) are described. This forest is well-known for its concentration of endemic species, mainly birds. We recorded the nectarivorous birds, vascular plants and the interactions among them between 2011-2014. The birds were recorded by direct observations and mist nets. Plants were evaluated with Gentry plots and occasional collection. A total of 26 nectarivorous bird species have been reported in this forest, however from our observations we detected from this assemblage 17 bird species that feed in plants’ nectar. Las patologías sinusales de origen odontogénico (PSO) son frecuentes en la consulta clínica; sin embargo, el odontólogo tiene algunas complicaciones para detectarlos porque su descubrimiento suele ser incidental y mediante estudios de imagen que, en la mayoría de los casos, son de baja calidad. El objetivo de esta revisión es describir los recursos de imagen pertinentes que permitan la detección de las PSO más frecuentes y, al mismo tiempo, realizar una revisión actualizada de la literatura científica con el fin de reconocer la imagenología tanto del seno maxilar como de los órganos dentales. Sinus pathologies of odontogenic origin (SPO) are common in the clinical consultation; however, the dentist has some complications to detect them because their discovery is usually incidental and through imaging studies that, in most cases, are of low quality. The objective of this review is to describe the pertinent imaging resources that allow the detection of the most frequent SPO and, at the same time, carry out an updated review of the scientific literature in order to recognize the imaging of both the maxillary sinus and the dental organs. The scientific literature focused on this topic, published between 2014 and 2020, was consulted. Se realizó un estudio Descriptivo-Correlacional de corte transversal y prospectivo, con el objetivo de determinar si existe relación entre el Nivel de conocimiento y la actitud de los estudiantes de tercer, cuarto y quinto año de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo-2010, hacia el paciente con VIH/SIDA. Se aplicó una encuesta anónima tipo cuestionario con: 5 ítems de aspectos generales, 10 de conocimientos y 10 de actitudes hacia el paciente con VIH. La muestra incluyó a 69 estudiantes de ambos sexos. La presente investigación, tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación de los fundamentos técnicos del futbol y las capacidades físicas en los estudiantes de 5to de secundaria de la I.E. Fe y Alegría 33. Se utilizó a nivel metodológico el enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico relacional, diseño no experimental y corte transversal. También, se empleó el instrumento de fundamentos técnicos del fútbol y la ficha de observación para evaluar las capacidades físicas, en una muestra de 112 alumnos de las distintas secciones. The snowy plover is a shorebird endemic to the Americas. It consists of three subspecies. In South America the subspecies occidentalis is found along the coast of the Pacific ocean. Although breeding behaviour,population demography and reproductive success are well established in North America, little is known about these ecological parameters for occidentalis snowy plovers. In October 2008 we studied breeding ecology of snowy plovers in the National Reserve Paracas, Ica, Peru. Snowy plovers were found at all nine sandy beaches and coastal wetlands visited. Based on counts we estimate the population in Paracas to consist of a minimum of 500 snowy plovers. Evidence for breeding activity was found at six of nine sites. El chorlo nevado es un ave playera endémica de las Americas, la cual tiene tres subespecies. En Sudamerica la subespecie occidentalis se encuentra a lo largo de la costa del océano Pacifico. Aunque se conoce su comportamiento reproductivo, demografía poblacional y éxito reproductivo en Norteamerica, poco se sabe de estos parámetros ecológicos de la subespecie occidentalis. En octubre de 2008 estudiamos la ecología reproductiva del chorlo nevado en la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, Ica, sudoeste del Perú. Los chorlos nevados fueron encontrados en todas las nueve playas arenosas y humedales costeros visitados. Life skills are considered necessary to achieve healthy human development and their teaching has spread globally through the implementation of prevention programs in school environments. However, these programs require easy to use instruments with adequate psychometric properties. This study aims to provide validity evidence based on the internal structure for the Life Skills Test, and to design a short version to assess life skills in Mexican adolescents and young people in school. In this psychometric study the Life Skills Test was administered to 897 students (Mage = 20.70, SD = 3.73); 74.7 % were women (M age = 20.49, SD = 3.16), 25.3 % men (M age = 21.33; SD = 5.01). 2.6 % were secondary and upper secondary education, 95.4 % undergraduate and 2% postgraduate students. Inertial kinetics and kinematics have substantial influences on human biomechanical function. A new algorithm for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-based motion tracking is presented in this work. The primary aims of this paper are to combine recent developments in improved biosensor technology with mainstream motion-tracking hardware to measure the overall performance of human movement based on joint axis-angle representations of limb rotation. This work describes an alternative approach to representing three-dimensional rotations using a normalized vector around which an identified joint angle defines the overall rotation, rather than a traditional Euler angle approach.
