The study aimed to evaluate the rates of visual oestrous and conception in Saanen goats subjected to oestrus synchronization at two seasons of the year. Hormonal synchronization was done using an intravaginal sponge impregnated with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MAP), for 11 days. In addition, 48 hours before sponge removal, 300 IU equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) and 125 µg cloprostenol were administered. The goats that showed heat were mounted by fertile males. The pregnancy diagnosis was done 60 days after the service by transrectal ultrasound. The rate of presentation of heat was 86.7 and 96.7% for the anoestrous season (January-February) and the cyclicity season (March-April), respectively, without significant difference between periods. The porcine cysticercosis seroprevalence was determined in rural villages of Tum-bes, Peru. Samples from 97% (1872/1927) of pigs, older than 7 months of age, from 17 ruralvillages of Tumbes province, Peru, were analyzed by the Electroimmunotransfer test.Also, village of origin, age, and sex were assessed to determine whether there wasassociation with regard to the presentation of the disease by the Chi square test andlogistic regression analysis. Seroprevalence was 45 ± 2.3%. Villages with higherseroprevalences were La Capitana, Carretas, and Rica Playa (70 ± 7.8, 69 ± 12.3, and 64 ± 6.8% respectively). Seroprevalence in pigs older than 12 months of age was 49 ± 3.1%,while in pigs 8 to 12 months of age was 40 ± 3.3% (p<0.05). There was no statisticaldifference due to sex. The results show that porcine cysticercosis is a serious publichealth problem for the villages surveyed.

Se determinó la seroprevalencia de cisticercosis porcina en caseríos de la zona de Tumbes, Perú. Se evaluó el 97% (1872/1927) del total de cerdos mayores a 7 meses de edad, provenientes de 17 caseríos rurales de la provincia de Tumbes, departamento de Tumbes, mediante la prueba de Electroinmunotransferencia. Además, se evaluó las variables caserío de procedencia, edad y sexo para determinar si existía asociación respecto a la presentación de la enfermedad, mediante la prueba de Chi Cuadrado y el análisis de Regresión Logística. The ‘guano of the islands’ in Perú is the excrement of cormorants, boobies and pelicans (guano birds), accumulated in large deposits on islands and headlands. This guano is harvested and marketed by the governmental agency AGRORURAL to meet the demands of local organic agriculture. As part of its management and commercialization plans, AGRORURAL estimates the total quantity of guano built-up on the seabird colonies using a volumetric method. El estudio se realizó en 12 humedales de las provincias de Huamanga, Cangallo (Ayacucho) y Huaytará (Huancavelica) con el fin de determinar su estado ecológico actual para el desarrollo de planes de conservación y manejo. Se evaluaron parámetros de suelo, agua y vegetación. Los suelos de los humedales se caracterizan por ser poco profundos a profundos (35-150 cm), con alto contenido de materia orgánica (4,6 a 100%), moderada a fuertemente ácidos (3,3 a 6,3), baja densidad aparente (0,1 a 0,8 g/cm3) y alta capacidad de campo (50,8 a 1002,4%). In everyday life context, inscribed in the cultural battlefield of the material and symbolic (hyper)mediations of the Internet, we are interested in critically reflecting on the approach to cultural practices of digital consumption. Inside the political communication field, we observe that today multiple phenomena are embedded in the daily configuration of these practices, which lead us to rethink the role of traditional audience measurements and statistics, to the use of big data and algorithms, different political-cultural outlooks of audiences, challenged by a global crisis in the subject of cybersecurity. Among other conditions of going digital, we will thus understand such contemporary consumption as an issue concerning political power, taking into account its ideological dimension.
