This study investigates emotional involvement in romantic relationships through the Relationship Involvement Scale (RIS), emphasizing its validation and reliability in a Peruvian sample. Interpersonal relationship challenges underline the significance of emotional commitment for well-being. The RIS uniquely assesses this aspect, distinguishing it from love, satisfaction, and maintenance measures. Through meticulous validation involving translation and expert review, and a sample of 300 Peruvian young adults, the research confirms the RIS’s unidimensional structure and reliability. Factorial analysis refines the scale by eliminating low-loading items, while associations with relationship satisfaction validate its construct. Utilizing confirmatory factor analysis, the study highlights the positive link between involvement and satisfaction, suggesting the RIS’s utility in understanding ...

The tolerant attitudes towards sexual violence against women constitute an important risk factor that should be considered to explain this type of aggressive behavior. One of the instruments that evaluates these attitudes is the Rape Supportive Attitude Scale (RSAS) developed by Lottes. The results of different psychometric studies have demonstrated good indexes of reliability and validity in American, Spanish and Salvadorian university students. The purpose of the study was to explore the psychometric properties of the RSAS in Argen tinean university students. We provide evidence of content validity through expert ratings, process validity through cognitive debriefing interviews, and evidence of internal structure through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Finally, the internal consistency of the scale was estimated and an analysis of contrasting groups in relation to gende...

A relevant aspect influencing inclusive practices is teachers' attitudes and predispositions toward diversity. Understanding their opinions on these issues requires validated, reliable, and appropriate instruments for use in early childhood education. This study describes the adaptation, validation, and reliability process of the instrument for the Opinion Scale on Inclusive Education developed by Bravo and Cardona (2013). This study includes content validation conducted with a team of expert judges, which allowed for the updating of some terms and adaptations of the items to the context. For construct validation and reliability analysis of the instrument, it was administered to a sample of 129 early childhood teachers. The results indicate that the items can be used to gather teachers' opinions about their perceptions and predispositions toward inclusive education. The homogeneity index...

The construct validity of six hypothesized dimensions was explored for an Accountancy majorgraduation examination, in order to understand the underlying process of responding. Using answers from 313 examinees to an intentional sample of 17 objective items administered on large scale, a confirmatory factorial analysis was carried out, with a Multi-Trait Multi-Method matrix (MTMM): Traits represented three cognitive operations required to solve the items and the methods represented three knowledge fields of the content. Each item was linked to a cog- nitive operation and to a knowledge field. The resulting model showed convergent validity in two constructs and its manifest variables and divergent only between technical and combined knowledge. Thus, the answering process was explained, simultaneously by the Understanding operation influenced by Theoretical knowledge. Implications to...

Social abilities are an essential part of human activity since they have a bearing on self-confidence, adoption of roles, self-regulation of behavior and academic performance, among other aspects. This study presents the process of construction and validation of a scale of social abilities for pre-school children. The scale was administered to 318 parents of 3 to 5 years old children of low socio-economic status who attend Primary Health Care Centers in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina. Considering the evolutionary and contextual characteristics relative to the process of acquisition of social abilities, a different protocol for every age group was designed. The result was a scale with confidence and validity characteristics. The validation of these instruments is helpful for evaluating children in poverty contexts since they enable us to distinguish social resources that allow chil...

It is necessary to evaluate the virtual class environments that have been generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In view of this, the objective was to design and validate a scale for the use of virtual academic media. The study is of an instrumental type, where the sample was conformed by 582 Peruvian university students. The scale was conformed by 10 items distributed in 2 dimensions. In order to find the validity of the content, it was considered the experts' judgment, for the validity of the construct, the exploratory and confirmatory factorial analysis, and to estimate the reliability, the Cronbach's αThe results indicate that the items received a favorable evaluation (Aiken's V > .70). Goodness-of-fit indices were satisfactory (χ2 = 24,204, df = 13; p = .001; RMR = .058; IFC = .931; TLI = .908; GFI = .957; AGFI = .931 and RMSEA = .071), and the correlation between factor 1 and 2 w...

The aim of this study is to determine the validity and reliability of the Organizational Culture Types Scale (ETCO). For this purpose, a quantitative, non-experimental, crosssectional, and instrumental study was conducted. A non-probabilistic selection process was carried out with 418 subjects from both public and private companies in Mexico City. The results indicate that, by eliminating four out of the 92 items from its original version, the ETCO demonstrates adequate exploratory and confirmatory factorial validity, as well as high reliability. Furthermore, a comparative profile of organizational culture types is presented by type and size of companies and job level, which enables the support of organizational change and development strategies.

Strategic consensus is a group process that can be described as the agreement among team members on strategic matters for success at work. The psychometric evidences of the validity of an assessment scale measuring strategic consensus in pedagogic teams are analyzed. Participants were 140 school teachers in Quito (Ecuador). Statistical analyses of the applied scale containing 14 items revealed a uni-dimensional factor structure explaining 49.7% of the variance. The internal consistency of the scale was satisfactory (? = .92; r item-total = .66). Results show that the scale is an useful tool for the diagnosis of the existence of consent among members of pedagogic teams and contributes to a full understanding of the phenomenon.
