The solution of Laplace's equation within a Classical Electrodynamics course is fundamental for the understanding of boundary problems in Electrostatics. In the present research work the analytical and numerical solution is obtained by the relaxation method, of a problem of infinite parallel plates, of the Laplace equation in Cartesian coordinates in an Euclidean space of two dimensions, specifically using the Python programming language, for its use in the teaching of Physics and its better phenomenological understanding. Likewise, the solutions obtained by both solution techniques are compared and discussed.

The research is based on the problems encountered in the production process of companies in the metalworking sector. The problem arises from the low availability of machines in the production process due to working conditions (39.5%), poor maintenance management (40.3%) and poor-quality control (20.2%) that generate low profitability for business. As a solution, Lean Manufacturing tools are implemented to improve the process and increase profitability. The improvement proposal consists of a series of stages: first, the definition of indicators for the measurement of the variables; then, the design and implementation of a pilot in the production process and, in parallel, a simulation system will be designed to evaluate the long-term results. New versions of the metaheuristic Multi-Particle Collision Algorithm (MPCA) are presented. In order to provide more effective candidate solutions for an optimization problem, the concept of opposition and reflection is introduced to improve the capacity to find a solution in the search space. Four different strategies to compute the reflected and opposite points are implemented. The performance of all implementations is evaluated over thirty objective functions with different complexities, using serial and parallel versions of the algorithms.

Convolutional sparse representations and convolutional dictionary learning are mathematical models that consist in representing a whole signal or image as a sum of convolutions between dictionary filters and coefficient maps. Unlike the patch-based counterparts, these convolutional forms are receiving an increase attention in multiple image processing tasks, since they do not present the usual patchwise drawbacks such as redundancy, multi-evaluations and non-translational invariant. El caso objeto de estudio desarrolla la controversia entre el Perú y Chile relativa a su límite marítimo lateral sobre el Océano Pacífico. Ambos Estados tenían puntos de vista diametralmente opuestos. Si bien para el Perú no existía un límite marítimo establecido, para Chile éste se hallaba plenamente definido por una serie de instrumentos suscritos por las partes. Recurrent flooding in the mining works, deficiencies in the operation of pumps, unforeseen stoppages, and lack of water availability in the processes, affect the operations in the subway mine. The traditional solution adopted is to wait for maintenance times for its post evacuation, generating stoppages, consumption of water from the wells and inefficiency in the daily water demand. Style transfer is a natural language processing generation task, it consists of substituting one given writing style for another one. In this work, we seek to perform informal-to-formal style transfers in the English language by using a style transfer model that takes advantage of the GPT-2. This process is shown in our web interface where the user input a informal message by text or voice. Our target audience are students and professionals in the need to improve the quality of their work by formalizing their texts.
