Digital Image Processing (DIP) books teach algorithms to digitally operate on images and include some figures to show the effects of those mathematical tools. In this report the creation of Imagery, a Virtual Laboratory for computer-assisted education (teaching and learning) of DIP is reported. Imagery can be used in the classroom, in the laboratory or at home. This software was developed to be used as a DIP laboratory, allowing the user to experiment with DIP algorithms, enabling him to see their effects on his own images. Se presenta un algoritmo para seleccionar un conjunto de píxeles por encima de un cierto nivel de gris en una imagen, extraerlo y transferirlo a otra imagen; el resultado es una superposición restringida de imágenes, basada en la técnica de diferencia controlada (modulada) las mismas. En algunas aplicaciones en las que se necesite mezclar imágenes, esta superposición restringida de imágenes podría ser una opción a considerar.

An algorithm to select a set of pixels above a predefined grey-level threshold from an image, extract it and transfer it to another image is presented; the result is a restricted overlapping of images, based on the Controlled (modulated) image difference technique. In some applications this thresholded overlapping may be an option to consider when the aim is the mixture of images.

The learning process in training children with visual impairments and low vision requires the use of new devices that integrate image recognition and feedback on stimulation sequences with the senses of tactile and auditory responses into their design. Eighteen students with visual impairments (blind or low vision) between the ages of eight and twelve, who attend a school specialized in teaching children with visual impairments, completed three numerical stimulation routines. The software developed evaluates skills of addition and subtraction, identification of geometric shapes, and mental calculations to achieve a goal. The results of the test showed that the students performed better in the game dynamic than in the addition and subtraction routines. The present research work aimed as main objective, to implement a computer vision_x000D_ system to identify surface faults in the flexible pavement using digital image_x000D_ processing and artificial intelligence fundamentals._x000D_ Four different models of convolutional networks were designed, with a data set_x000D_ of 7200 images, 1440 being for the training set, 360 for the validation set and 77 for_x000D_ the test. The model that presented the best indicators for the computer vision system_x000D_ was chosen, the results being as follows: 98.03% efficiency, 95.06% sensitivity and_x000D_ 95.63% specificity._x000D_ Finally, with the results obtained, the hypothesis proposed could be demonstrated,_x000D_ that a computer vision system allows the identification of surface faults in the flexible_x000D_ pavement

Objectives: To determine the validity and reliability of the instrument "Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q)" in the measurement of the Computer Visual Syndrome in health personnel in Lima. Methods: A quantitative, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and questionnaire study was carried out in 82 health workers. Content validity was evaluated by expert judgment with the Aiken V statistical method; construct validity, through factor analysis; discriminant validity, through the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) curve contrasted with the CSSV17 questionnaire; internal consistency reliability, with Cronbach's alpha; reliability test - re-test (7 days apart); with Spearman's Rho and Interclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) with 95% CI. Para ello, se emplearon técnicas matemáticas de procesamiento digital de imágenes basadas en la manipulación del histograma a través de una potencia, seguido de una detección de múltiple umbral haciendo uso del método de Otsu, para posteriormente binarizar la imagen digital y aplicar los operadores morfológicos de erosión y cerradura que permitieron limpiar el ruido del contorno, así como facilitar la cuenta del número de pixeles blancos contenidos en el área de interés. In Ecuador, the Andean highlands ecosystems, also known as páramos, are essential for producing water for human consumption and irrigation. Some páramos in the country are managed by indigenous communities that have contributed to their conservation through principles of reciprocity, territory and culture. However, these community-led initiatives are often marginalized by techno-scientific discourses and visions of water as promoted by public authorities as well as international experts working on these issues.
