The study aimed to evaluate the rates of visual oestrous and conception in Saanen goats subjected to oestrus synchronization at two seasons of the year. Hormonal synchronization was done using an intravaginal sponge impregnated with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MAP), for 11 days. In addition, 48 hours before sponge removal, 300 IU equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) and 125 µg cloprostenol were administered. The goats that showed heat were mounted by fertile males. The pregnancy diagnosis was done 60 days after the service by transrectal ultrasound. The rate of presentation of heat was 86.7 and 96.7% for the anoestrous season (January-February) and the cyclicity season (March-April), respectively, without significant difference between periods. The conception rate was 88.5 and 62.1% for the periods January-February and March-April, respectively (p<0.05). It is concluded that the use ...

TThis study of modernity, approached from a philosophical and architectural perspective, delves into a multifaceted concept rooted in historical events and philosophical outlooks. When addressing modernity, it is imperative to transcend the constraints of specific dates and consider it as a way of conceiving history and the world. Modernity is characterized by its ability to challenge rooted traditions and mark a distinct transition from the old to the new. Despite its historical ties to events such as the fall of Constantinople and Columbus’s voyages, its essence extends beyond these dates. Max Weber emphasizes Western modernity’s critical role in modern capitalism’s emergence. At the same time, Martin Heidegger underscores the intimate relationship between humans and their environment, giving special significance to the act of dwelling and the act of construction itself. In aesth...

In this brief essay, I will elucidate the concept of diglossia from the approach of Charles Ferguson (1959) to the multiple uses it has acquired over time. The polysemy of the term in question is a clear indicator that it refers to an enormously complex reality or, indeed, to quite different realities. Indeed, the universe of diglossic relationships is so variegated that it is necessary to carry out a rigorous conceptual analysis in order to avoid falling into unpleasant confusions and unfortunate simplifications. Consequently, my main purpose is to outline the evolution of the concept to see to what extent it is still useful, especially bearing in mind the Peruvian case: what Albe1io Escobar (1979) called the language question in Peru.

Future time perspective extension is an individual's perception of the psychological distance between future goals. The concept of extension can be expanded to include how far into the future an individual habitual time space extends and the diffusion of goals within that time space. This alignment and distance may be related to the individual episodic future thinking, the pre-experiencing of future events. Research in FTP and EFT are typically siloed; considering both approaches to future thinking provides not only greater insight into the two constructs but may also provide avenues for developing interventions. Participants in this study (n = 13) were recruited from a scholarship program designed to provide them with financial support as they progress from community college to high-wage careers in science and engineering. Students were transitioning from two-year programs at local comm...

In this paper we question the concept of rationality providing a possible use of it in social agrarian studies and economic anthropology. First, we theoretically clarify the path by relating and distinguishing at the same time two concepts: «modern rationality» and «economic rationality». Afterwards, we present some theoretical-methodological mediation that allows a categorical use of those concepts. Then, we elaborate some epistemological reflections on this matter. As a conclusion, we review our main contributions, emphasizing the link between general concerns, linked to the development of Modernity, with some of its historical embodiments in the agrarian order and economic anthropology.

The paper examines the concept of “transitory alienations” from a legal and medical perspective, focusing on how certain temporary alterations of consciousness affect imputability in legal cases. To that extent, the text begins by explaining that disorders such as epilepsy, sleepwalking, drunkenness and violent emotion can lead to states of temporary unconsciousness. Particularly, in the case of epilepsy, its manifestation is detailed in variants such as grand mal, petit mal and psychomotor epilepsy, each with specific symptoms that alter the behavior and consciousness of those affected, causing them to commit violent acts without awareness of the act. Next, imputability in law is analyzed, emphasizing that a person's capacity to understand or intend his or her acts is fundamental for criminal liability. Finally, the author highlights that in several legal systems, exoneration or mit...

Les Misérables (Les Misérables) is a classic work of world literature written by the French writer Victor Hugo. In the novel we find different conceptions of justice and injustice; therefore, the reader must analyse different approaches to determine and compare the ethical choices of each of the characters. The story takes place in the 19th century, in a time of chaos, struggle, unrest, oppression and inequality. The backdrop is the French Revolution, an event that brought about great transformations. The narrative of Les Misérables is part of Romanticism, exposing issues related to certain values such as goodness and evil, justice and injustice, among others, represented by the characters, especially by the protagonist and the antagonist: Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively. Les Misérables neatly shows the nostalgia of a world full of contradictions, as part of the substratum of a...

The complete work of César Vallejo includes poetry, essays, narrative and theater. The highest values correspond to poetry as an intellectual and creative activity to the point that practically the author's name is closely associated with this genre, constituting the Vallejo-poetry pairing, which relegates the rest to the background. A greater approach to his literature is required to identify his other productions and find the eigenvalues of each of his texts. Storytelling was not a job alien to Vallejo. He practiced it from the earliest times as a writer. Proof of this is in Escalas, known as Escalas melographadas (Lima 1923), whose chronology fixes the moments of his imprisonment in jail between 1920 and 1921 as those of his first writing. The same year of 1923, months after Escalas, he will publish in the collection of the Peruvian novel by Pedro Barrantes Castro, Fabla ...

Constitutional Procedural Law is a discipline that has evolved and gained legitimacy over time. However, there are still questions surrounding this branch of law. The definition of its meaning still represents a challenge for the doctrine. In this sense, the aim of this paper is to explore the origin of the concept and to offer an adequate definition. To this end, the author analyses recent developments and advances in the field. Although important points are addressed, there are still relevant questions that need to be explored in order to achieve a more complete understanding of this discipline.

There is an infinite range of cultures, peoples, tribes, cultural areas, ethnicities and ethnicities, and this anthropological reality has raised humanity, since the beginning of time, the problem of accepting ourselves as different. A cultural area is a spatial entity within which societies show some similarity or a number of common significant aspects. American anthropology has therefore tried to establish a kind of "maps" on the distribution of traits, groups of traits or cultural complexes in order to determine the centers of cultural diffusion and its route (Cf. Wissler C., 1926; Kroeber H.L., 1939).

In today's Russian environment, special attention in the work of preliminary investigation agencies is paid to the development and implementation of the latest methods and techniques for countering criminal behaviour. Essential to the timely and rapid detection of a crime and to the objective and comprehensive investigation of criminal cases is the high professionalism of the staff of preliminary investigation agencies, as well as their skills and abilities in practical work, which are undoubtedly based on scientific research on ways to identify criminal acts, expose guilty persons and prevent them from evading punishment. One form of counteracting the investigation of a criminal case is the giving of false testimony by subjects of criminal proceedings during questioning and face-to-face confrontation. This paper presents the theoretical basis for the diagnosis of lies, reveals the conce...

Throughout this text, we will analyze the concept of time and how this time could determine or limit what we understand in palliative care as "dying well". To understand these concepts, we use the bibliographic review as a work methodology, we search for authors from various disciplines, who suggest thinking about dying well, the subjective and chronological time. The review consists of an approach to the concepts, ideas, theories that motivate us to raise some questions regarding our practice, and thus, produce this writing. The following questions will guide this analysis: what happens when the chronological time of the disease is not the necessary time to accompany the speed with which death presents itself in the subjectivity of the patient and their family?, is there an ideal death?, should we all go through an ideal death?, what happens when chronological time does not allow us to ...

This article analyzes features of the author’s artistic research in which he investigates space and time through soundwalking, an immersive and embodied practice with the capacity to engage critical attention and reanimate otherwise familiar surroundings. Inspired by social geographer Doreen Massey’s (2005) conception of space as “a simultaneity of stories so far” and “always in the process of being made,” the author’s soundwalks explore the points of intersection at which space is produced. In this paper, the author analyzes the temporal and corporeal aspects of the soundwalking, and their approach based upon an initial capture of sound recordings while walking a particular route, before returning them to be experienced in their original context, thereby exploiting the consequent temporal shift. Through the deliberate blending of these field recordings with the live sounds...
