The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between shyness and self-concept in primary school children belonging to a private educational institution in Lima. In addition, we sought to identify how shyness is related to each of the dimensions of self-concept and the significant differences in the values of shyness and self-concept depending on the academicgrade and gender of the children. Esta investigación tuvo como finalidad demostrar la correlación entre timidez y autoconcepto en estudiantes de primaria de una Institución Educativa Privada situada en Pachacámac. Asimismo, buscó establecer la relación entre timidez con cada una de las dimensiones del autoconcepto. Además, buscó demostrar las diferencias significativas entre los niveles de timidez y autoconcepto según grado académico y sexo del estudiante. El estudio de investigación fue enmarcado en un paradigma positivista, de enfoque cuantitativo, en un nivel descriptivo, de tipo básica y diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional.
