The university’s processes of tutoring and mentoring have been described as relevant toolsfor overall development and academic integration of the university student and overalldevelopment of the university student, and academic integration. This study conducted a bibliometric review about tutoring and mentoring programs in Brazilian universities between 1998 and 2013 in order to map existing initiatives, configuration, objectives, key findings and relevance. After consulting CAPES Repositorium, SciELO, INDEXPsi e BVS-Psi, 31 papers were analyzed. Most studies in the area of health were conducted in public institutions with qualitative methods, in the southeast and northeast of Brazil. Results indicated positive evaluation of the experiences, and point to aspects to be considered in future projects.

Objective: Neuroaxial analgesia is the most effective technique to treat labor pain, however, there are still concerns regarding the undesirable effects. Objective: To evaluate the association between epidural analgesia maintained by programmed intermittent epidural boluses (PEIB) and maternal perinatal complications. Materials and methods: Observational, analytical study of Cohort type in pregnant women between 18 and 35 years, in labor with cervical dilation of 4 centimeters or more, grouped in two cohorts according to administration or not of epidural analgesia: In pregnant women of Group A, administered bolus epidural analgesia, with maintenance by BEIP with bupivacaine 0.0625% and fentanyl 25 ug in 10cc every 60 minutes; in pregnant women of group B, epidural analgesia was not administered. The primary objective of the research was to determine the extent to which the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program changes the study habits in the academic performance of students in the last years of secondary school. Study habits such as study techniques, organizational skills, exam-preparation techniques, and techniques used in class, as well as students’ level of distractibility, were analyzed and compared. The study used a longitudinal design with three time points and a control group. Participants were randomly selected for a six-week program or for the control group. We used psychometric instruments to measure stress and depression. Adherence and participations of the patients in the program demonstrate the feasibility of the program with breast cancer in Peru. Results show that, in comparison with the control group, there was significant reductions of perceived stress and depression amongst participants.

Objectives. To know the levels of child development and explore its relationship with socioeconomic status and maternal education. Methods. Quantitative – exploratory study done between March and August 2013. The study include information about 5859 children of 1- 24 months at the interview and their 5723 mothers (or primary caregiver), from 5620 rural homes. We applied an adapted version of Age and Stages Questionnaire ASQ-3 and a socio-demographic questionnaire. Results. Scores in the scales of communication and fine motor showed that, as age is higher, the gap in the results of the scales increases. The purpose was to prove the power of retention through the case study method. In order to measure the level of retention, the same test was given three and six months after classes ended. Student satisfaction through the case study method was considered a secondary dependent variable. The quasi experimental design pretest and posttest was applied with intact groups. This research was comparison of user experience between the Scratch and Code.org platforms, for being used by novice program-mers. The comparison was taking into seven factors that influ-ence user experience, including usefulness, usability, desirability, findability, accessibility, credibility, and value. The research was carried out with the participation of 40 people with little or no knowledge about programming topics, the people carried out the following tasks: Register on the platform, use a sample project, create a project, program using block-based programming, explore the features and functionalities of the platform. In general, both platforms offer a good user experience for novice programmers. Finally, it is concluded that Scratch offers a better user experience, because it exceeded Code.org in 4 of the 7 factors.

Objectives. To know receptive vocabulary levels in mothers and oldest brothers of children in rural areas and explore their relationships with socioeconomic status and maternal education. Methods. Quantitative study done between March and August 2013. We collected data from 5723 mothers and 3487 oldest brothers. We used the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (TVIP), and a sociodemographic questionnaire. Results. Mothers reach an average score of 72.7 points in TVIP and socioeconomic gradients of maternal vocabulary showed a horizontal trend in major and minor groups wealth. Objetivos. Conocer los niveles de calidad del entorno del hogar y explorar sus relaciones con el nivel socioeconómico y la educación de la madre. Materiales y métodos. Estudio cuantitativo-exploratorio realizado durante marzo y agosto de 2013. Se recogió información sobre 5.859 niños menores en el rango de edad de 1 a 24 meses al momento de la entrevista, que conformaban 5.620 hogares en zonas rurales.
