This paper shows that it is possible to estimate, from a single interferogram image, the error of the concave shape for an optically polished surface that will be used as a mirror in a reflecting telescope. In the Optics Laboratory of the PUCP, a Twyman-Green interferometer has been implemented; surface images with overlapping interference fringes known as interferograms are acquired. Algorithms based on Fourier transform allows the reconstruction of the surface shape and its deviation from ideal concave shape. Images were evaluated for different numbers of interference fringes in the same surface; in each case, a single image was necessary to determine surface error with the added advantage of not having contact with the surface.

Aim: To compare the sealing capacity of mineral trioxide (MTA®) and tricalcium silicate (Biodentine®) for retrograde filling in single-root permanent teeth. Materials and methods: Thirty-eight permanent single-root teeth with complete apical closure were selected and randomly divided into two experimental groups (n = 15): Group 1: MTA®, and Group 2: Biodentine®, in addition to positive and negative controls. Objectives: Compare the degree of apical microleakage using three filling techniques: lateral condensa-tion, single cone and a new proposed technique. Materials and method: 36 teeth were prepared with rotary files Mtwo until Nº. 40 / .04 and then be randomly selected using three obturation techniques (G1: lateral condensation technique, G2: single cone; G3: new proposed technique). This research was conducted in a farinaceous products company that was facing a problem of low productivity due to frequent downtime, leading to underutilization of their capacity. The lean manufacturing methodology was used to address this issue, specifically value stream mapping (VSM) and single-minute exchange of die (SMED) tools. These tools were applied in stages, including a diagnostic pretest (current map), followed by design, implementation, and a posttest (final map). The results were evaluated after the completion of the process, and it was found that the application of SMED led to a significant reduction in downtime. The product changeover time was decreased from 82 minutes to 42 minutes, reducing plant downtime or waste by 40 minutes and improving lean manufacturing indicators.

The present research identifies the issue posed by the lack of a standardized and efficient process in the cutting area of a Small and Medium-sized Enterprise in the textile-fashion sector in Peru. In an effort to address this challenge, the Single Minute Exchange of Die methodology was leveraged to enhance productivity by reducing waste associated with changeover times, manifesting as bottlenecks. Additionally, support was provided through other Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S and SPP to propose areas for improvement that reinforce the implementation of the aforementioned technique. The results demonstrated a productivity increase of 39.36% in the area, transitioning from an average capacity of handling 3.45 orders per day to achieving a daily average capacity of up to 4.81 orders.
