The perception of environmental pollution from objective public and private advertising in Peru was diagnosed. A 20-question semi-structured survey was used that was composed of three dimensions: primary information, environmental impacts and consequences, and control measures. The sample was 1,200 people and ran from May 20 to June 06, 2019. Respondents consider signs for political campaigns as the worst form of visual contamination. Graffiti has an environmental impact in cities, generating a terrible image. Digital propaganda signs generate impacts associated with glare and distraction of people, and posters are polluting elements. Objetive. Communicate the first report of Klebsiella pneumoniae producing carbapenemases. The study: Microbiological diagnosis using phenotypic methods: double disc synergy, modified Hodge test, immunochromatography and carbapenemic inactivation. Findings: Four isolates (urine 3 and blood 1) of carbapenemase-producing K. pneumoniae were confirmed, which also presented a MIC of 4 and> = 8 for ertapenem and> = 16 µg / mL at imipenem and meropenem. Conclusion: Standardized phenotypic methods are useful in the confirmation of carbapenemases and with it an alternative for the best taking of therapeutic options and epidemiological surveillance.

The present investigation allowed to describe how environmental taxation can be applied as an economic instrument in the face of pollution, this being a negative externality. A descriptive analysis of the market failure that represents pollution was carried out, and the tax economic instrument on environmental matters was presented as an action tool, which acts first as compensation for the damage performed and second, as an incentive for behaviors that are not harmful to the environment. El proceso de generación hidroeléctrica se compone esencialmente de tres etapas que son la del embalse de agua, la de transformación de energía hidráulica a energía eléctrica y la de entrega de la energía eléctrica para su distribución. En la etapa del embalse se realizó la cuantificación de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero usando la metodología propuesta por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, denominada Panel Intergubernamental para el Cambio Climático del 2006 en diez centrales hidroeléctricas peruanas. Se concluyó que, en la primera fase de la generación hidroeléctrica, que es la del embalse, la contaminación significativa total de dióxido de carbono, CO2, llegó a ser 83947 toneladas por año y se contrastó los resultados comparando con datos obtenidos de embalses similares de hidroeléctricas brasileñas.

In Peru, the coca growers’ movement emerged as a response to the State stance against the proliferation of illicit cultivation of coca leaf. To defend this product, this social movement has appealed mainly to three kinds of actors: pressure groups, political parties and insurgent groups. This article points that, in the exercise of this intermediation, these three actors deploy contradictory discourses and practices, according to the political arenas in which the movement requires navigate to defend the cultivation of the coca leaf.

Antimicrobial resistance is one of the greatest threats to public health, and hospital wastewater effluents are an important source of transmission for resistant pathogens. The objective of this study was to determine the presence of multidrug-resistant bacteria producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases, AmpC, and carbapenemases in hospital effluents from three regions of Peru. Bacteria were collected and characterized from nine hospitals using chromogenic media and an automated microbiology system. Se ha seleccionado un estudio de caso que involucra a una comunidad de productores de pisco, agrupados en torno a un centro de innovación productiva y transferencia de tecnología (CITE agroindustrial) en la zona sur de Lima, Perú. El estudio examina cómo han cambiado sus percepciones durante un período de seis años (2012-2018).
