El sistema de salud en Arequipa, Perú, se enfrenta a numerosos desafíos, siendo uno de los más destacados la escasez de recursos tanto financieros como humanos. Esta situación dificulta el acceso a una atención médica de calidad para la población,especialmente en lo que respecta al monitoreo continuo de los signos vitales de los pacientes. La falta de personal médico capacitado y la limitada disponibilidad de equipos de monitoreo adecuados contribuyen a esta problemática, lo que puede resultar en una atención deficiente y en la falta de detección temprana de posibles complicaciones de salud. La situación se agrava aún más en zonas rurales y remotas de Arequipa, donde el acceso a servicios de salud es aún más limitado. Ferrol Bay is considered one of the most polluted areas of the Peruvian coast, mainly due to the residues of the industrial fishing and iron and steel industry. El monitoreo de los diferentes signos vitales en vacunos tiene importancia desde el punto de vista productivo, sanitario y de bienestar animal; sin embargo, existen pocos equipos que tengan el potencial de uso a nivel de campo y que no sean invasivos. Por tal motivo se llevó a cabo el presente trabajo con la finalidad de diseñar, construir y evaluar el uso de un pequeño MOnitor de SIgnos VItales LLevable (MOSIVILLe), que sea capaz de capturar las señales vitales en vacunos bajo condiciones de campo.

The purpose of this research is to study technical aspects involved in the implementation of a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) neural network in terms of predictive capacity, generalization and accuracy in order to establish optimal criteria for the validation and implementation thereof. Our hypothesis is that the statistical structure of the data affects the optimal performance of a PCA neural network in the unsupervised context. It was demonstrated that the Hebbian algorithm at the learning phase ensures enhanced quality of network representation as it makes efficient use of information where generalized variance is large.

OBJECTIVE: To know the side effects of vasectomy and acceptance of the user population by this method. DESIGN: Descriptive study. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 50 patients were included vasectomy users between February 1997 and September 1998 at the National Hospital Cayetano Heredia. Release 7.5 (November 14, 1996) as standard - for statistical analysis SPSS for Windows was used. RESULTS: Side effects occurred in 8% of the users of this method. Acceptance of this family planning method was 94% of users. In patients who experienced side effects, 6% had infection and inflammation of the surgical wound and 2% mild pain in one of the testicles. Se ha implementado el método de doble monitor desnudo para determinar los parámetros del flujo neutrónico térmico y epitérmico en el reactor RP-10 del Centro Nuclear RACSO empleando aleación de Au (1.55 %)-Cu como monitor de flujo. El método aplicado minimiza las dificultades técnicas que presentan métodos como el de diferencia por cadmio, simplificando el análisis y procesamiento de datos experimentales. Se determina el flujo neutrónico térmico y epitérmico, en la posición central del núcleo del reactor RP-10, para una potencia de 1 kW, una diferencia relativa menor al 4 % respecto a los obtenidos mediante la aplicación del método convencional de diferencia por Cd en el formalismo de Westcott. Se discuten las ventajas y desventajas de su implementación.

La calibración dosimétrica de los monitores de radiación, a distintas magnitudes radiológicas, se realiza con el objetivo de obtener medidas exactas, por este motivo el LSCD calcula el factor de calibración dosimétrica y su incertidumbre asociada, para cada rango de uso. El factor de calibración se realiza empleando el método de campos de radiación conocidos y su incertidumbre es calculada siguiendo las recomendaciones de normas ISO.
