Denoising diffusion probabilistic models (DDPMs) have demonstrated significant potential in addressing complex image processing challenges. This paper explores the application of DDPMs in three different areas: reconstruction of remote sensing imagery affected by cloud cover, reconstruction of facial images with occluded areas, and segmentation of bodies of water from remote sensing imagery. Inpainting involves filling in missing regions in images, while DDPMs act as data generators capable of synthesizing information that alings coherently with the context of the original data. Inspired by the inpainting technique, the RePaint approach was adapted and applied to reconstruction tasks. A Virtual Lab to experiment on controlled fusion of two digital images has been developed. The resulting image has user pre-defined percentages of each contributing image. With the aim on improving the quality of the resulting image in the fusion, the Virtual Lab has been enabled with the option of selecting a color to be ignored during the fusion process, in this way this color is not fussioned. Successful experiments have been executed fusing three images using the same algorithm.

The wide adoption of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) in additive manufacturing has led to the need for a comprehensive understanding of the corrosion behavior of LPBF-fabricated components [1]. This thesis focuses on the pitting corrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel, emphasizing the influence of process-induced porosity. The impact of various defects on pitting corrosion behavior was explored through a series of experimental investigations using cyclic potentiodynamic polarization in a 0.6M NaCl solution. The study revealed that LPBF 316L SS exhibited superior pitting resistance compared to its wrought counterpart [2]–[7], even in the presence of manufacturing defects. Thermodynamic simulation models have been developed to observe the behavior of the minor elements Zn, Pb, As, Sb and Bi; as well as the major elements Cu, Fe, Si, 0 and S in the conversion and fusion processes: NORANDA and ISASMELT for the production of copper-rich mattes. The Noranda process shows a steady state model for obtaining a high-grade matte in metallic copper. The lsasmelt process is based on the concept of the two independent reaction sites in the bath (slag-killing interface): rapid oxidation and slow reduction. Purpose. The purpose of this article is to propose a detailed methodology to estimate, model and incorporate the non-constant volatility onto a numerical tree scheme, to evaluate a real option, using a quadrinomial multiplicative recombination. Design/methodology/approach. This article uses the multiplicative quadrinomial tree numerical method with non-constant volatility, based on stochastic differential equations of the GARCH-diffusion type to value real options when the volatility is stochastic. Findings. Findings showed that in the proposed method with volatility tends to zero, the multiplicative binomial traditional method is a particular case, and results are comparable between these methodologies, as well as to the exact solution offered by the Black–Scholes model. An algorithm to select a set of pixels above a predefined grey-level threshold from an image, extract it and transfer it to another image is presented; the result is a restricted overlapping of images, based on the Controlled (modulated) image difference technique. This work proposes the use of the methodology to process real financial valuation of strategic investments in mergers and acquisitions by global companies of Mexican options. Through a concrete example it shows the appropriateness of their use in the analysis of the feasibility of buying the American company - Canadian Weston Foods by the Mexican multinational company Bimbo, purchase modeling in the context of the theory of real options as an option buying applying the binomial expansion method. Determine the value of the option to purchase Weston Foods applying real options methodology by comparing it with the premium originally agreed by Bimbo.
