This study has the goal of comprehending the process of decentralization of the educational policies on the municipality management, aiming at the identification of the autonomy of the municipality on the elaboration and implementation of the Joint Action Plan (PAR) in four different locations in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, in the period 2007-2010, technically and financially supported by the Union. The methodology is based both on quantitative and qualitative aspects and uses documental and content analysis as tools. The research shows how the planning on the municipal level and on the federal level are at variance with each other, evidencing that the decentralization has not been achieving the expected results regarding the autonomy given to the municipalities on the local educational management. This is due to the strong centralizat...

The goal of this article is to offer a further scope with regard to the external peer evaluators and to emphasize the relevance of their action within a process of institutional accreditation. In this framework it was considered as paragraphs, their mission, their criterion, their abilities and skills in the area of action, their role as a part in the accreditation organization, among other interesting aspects to have in consideration facing- with a range of possibilities- an external evaluation. Approaching the topic implied the research of documentary material published by well-known Latin-American accreditation entities that draw upon the collaboration of work teams in order to technically validate the educational service that is provided by the evaluated programs, as well as university institutions that experienced previous processes of accreditation. The resulting conclusion is then...

The intertwined global health and economic crisis which Covid-19 has generated showsthe centrality of the role of the State in confronting both events as well as its vitalimportance in the performance of international organizations dealing with such problem.Multilateralism still depends on the State’s performance and not the other way aroundyet. The global crisis has also shown the need to reform the great majority of internationalregimes involved in it with the purpose of strengthening and enlarging their specificfunctions without risking such regimes with integral changes. Besides, the global natureof the pandemic has underlined the importance of geography in the efforts of tracing it. Such event implies the need of redefining the concept of globalization which underscoresthe delinkage of global processes from its territorial bases.

When a relationship ends, it is essential to identify strategies that help people cope with the breakup, as this will condition their future well-being. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between romantic breakup distress and flourishing, considering self-compassion as a mediator variable. A questionnaire was administered to 506 students of different educational levels (secondary and higher) and ages (15 to over 23 years old) to obtain information on study variables. Correlational and inferential analyzes were performed. The results indicated that the loss of intimacy was the main reason for the breakup. Furthermore, there were significant differences in distress according to the duration of the broken relationship, the status of the initiator of the breakup, and the current relationship. Finally, a significant indirect effect of distress on flourishing through self-co...

This study aims to analyze the effect of victimization suffered during the COVID-19 lockdown on psychological trauma in early and late adolescents. The sample of this study comprised of 933 Peruvian adolescents, 45.5% (n= 423) were males and (54.5%) (n= 506) were females. 44.5% (n=415) were in early adolescence (12 to 13 years) and 55.5 % (n=518) were in late adolescence (14 to 17 years). Data was collected online during the COVID-19 lockdown. Results show that early adolescents who have suffered victimization have higher probabilities of suffering psychological trauma than late adolescents compared to non- victims. In addition, loneliness is observed to play a significant role as a mediator in the relationship between victimization and psychological trauma in Early Adolescents (B = .69, SE = 0.08, CI [ .53, .86]) and late adolescents (B = .66, SE = 0.07, CI [.51, .81]). Results suggests...

The goal of this study is to determine the source of gold and the role played by organic carbon and arsenic in the formation of sediment-hosted gold deposits. The effect of and link between these two ubiquitous ingredients yet remains unresolved, even though most mineable gold in the Earth’s crust is hosted by this type of deposits. In this work, we tackled these fundamental questions in a case study of the Shahuindo and Algamarca deposits in the Marañon Fold and Thrust Belt of the Peruvian Andes. These deposits are representative of sediment-hosted deposits in which gold mineralization is closely associated with both carbonaceous material and arsenian pyrite. We combined a range of complementary approaches including regional-scale basin analysis, mineralogical, geochemical, and fluid-inclusion studies, coupled with modeling of fluidrock interactions. Our results show that both Shahui...

International law has sought to regulate human mobility throughout history, yet it still faces significant limitations and a marked Eurocentric bias. Forty years after the Cartagena Declaration on Refugees, this article analyzes the discussions of the Cartagena+40 Process, which resulted in the Chile Declaration and Plan of Action 2024–2034. These discussions identified the main normative and migration policy challenges in Latin America. This article aims to contribute to critical dialogue and encourage further research to update international law. It proposes, for example, to overcome the traditional dual legal typology between migrants and refugees as a condition for granting international protection, and to foresee the necessary legal inclusion of new legal terminologies and definitions. This would enable States to better address current challenges in this area, reaffirming the fund...

In this research, we intend to study how couple relationships are in the Quechua testimony. We can assure that, in the Quechua cosmovision, the relationships between animals, gods, men and nature are expressed indualities, by correspondence, by symmetry, by analogy, by complementarity and by reciprocity. It is a type of cognitive structure that includes the entire cosmological order. For this reason, it is possible to find traditional communities where there are roles played by both men and women that can be traced back through chronicles and Inca mythology. Consider the mythical couple Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo. The spaces they founded represent the high (hanan), the masculine (the Inca), the low (hurin) and the feminine (the Coya). In the cosmological drawing of Santa Cruz Pachacuti, this dualism is also expressed in mythical figures represented by the notions of yanantin and masintin...

Ambivalent sexism proposes that male hegemony is sustained through devotion to mothers, wives and carers and through hostility towards women who do not fulfill these roles. These patterns would increase violent communication to women, an effect that would be increased by individual differences such as fear of negative social assessment (TESN). We sought to identify the impact of TESN and the six components of ambivalent sexism on destructive communication styles in the couple, analyzing data from 590 young participants. Regressions and models of structural equations confirm effects of hostile sexism and TESN on destructive communication, but only for men. The effects of each component of ambivalent sexism on destructive communication are discussed.

The objective of this qualitative study was to characterize the functions of significant social networks of patients who experienced obesity recurrence after bariatric surgery. For data collection, semi-structured interviews and application of the Network Map were used. The analysis of the data of the 12 participants was based on Grounded Theory and was supported by the Atlas-ti software. Family members were the most mentioned people playing, predominantly the role of emotional support. Noteworthy were the functions of emotional support, cognitive guidance and material help offered by the health team, as well as unmet expectations of help. It is sustained that knowing the relational dimension that surrounds bariatric patients allows us to highlight resources to face challenging moments inherent to the postoperative period, such as the recurrence of obesity.
