Studies indicate that air pollutant concentrations affect human health. Especially, Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) is the most dangerous pollutant because this is related to cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, among others. Therefore, governments must monitor and control pollutant concentrations. To this end, many of them have implemented Air quality monitoring (AQM) networks. However, AQM stations are usually spatially sparse due to their high costs in implementation and maintenance, leaving large áreas without a measure of pollution. Numerical models based on the simulation of diffusion and reaction process of air pollutants have been proposed to infer their spatial distribution. However, these models often require an extensive inventory of data and variables, as well as high-end computing hardware. In this research, we propose two deep learning models. The first is a generative...

Low Density Parity Check codes presents itself as the dominant FEC code in terms of performance, having the nearest performance to the Shannon limit and proving its usefulness in the increasing range of applications and standards that already used it. Low power devices are not except of this rapid development, where it emerges the necessity of decoders of low power without totally sacrificing performance or resource usage. The present work details the devolopment of a LDPC decoder compliant with the DVB-S2 standard for digital television, motivated for its already established use in uplink and downlink satellite applications and its great performance at large code lengths. This research presents the study of the min-sum algorithm and the design of the elements that conform the core decoder, including both functional units (variable and check nodes), memory blocks and routing network. In ...

Digital competences in teachers imply the development of functional capacities for the progress of virtual educational activities, and due to the current context (global health crisis), they need them as a priority of technology to insert themselves into digital citizenship. In the educational task, precisely in the work performance of the teaching staff, they serve as tools that provide sustainability for the development of virtual education. The objective of this research is to review the theories and foundations of digital skills in teachers located between the years 2017 and 2021. The applied methodology is the systematic review with processes of review, selection and analysis of 441 articles. 40 scientific documents were compiled under criteria of selection of the literature. The results conclude that digital competences are the skills that empower the individual to use digital medi...

The evaluation of the quality of the water in rivers is necessary to manage the efficiency of its use, being necessary to carry out physicochemical and biological analyzes to determine its healthiness, but it implies in its determination of a series of parameters that use various analytical methods that often they are tedious and time consuming to calculate. The present study makes a comparison of machine learning models such as Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), Neural Network Backpropagation (BPNN) and Support Vector Regression (SVR) to estimate Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) to determine the quality of the water of the Rímac river. Water samples were collected from 26 stations and non-point sources of contamination along the Rímac River with 624 records made during the years 2010 to 2012. The physical and chemical parameters introduced in the models include...

Background: Breast cancer is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality among women around the world. In Peru, it has recently surpassed cervical cancer as the most commonly reported cancer. Studying the relationship between intrinsic breast cancer subtypes and disease staging can optimize diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. Therefore, there is a need for better risk stratification, selection of personalized treatment, and improved early detection strategies. We conducted this study to address the lack of data on underrepresented populations such as the Peruvian population. The objective of the study was to analyze the distribution of intrinsic subtypes of breast cancer and their correlation with prognostic factors and demographic characteristics among women in Peru. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective observational study was conducted, analyzing 67 cases of breast cancer of va...

The study describes the development of pathological lesions in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) experimentally intoxicated through the ingestion of pellets containing one third of Pteridium aquilinum and two thirds of concentrate during 135 days. The guinea pig was used as a experimental model for cattle with Bovine Enzootic Haematuria (BEH). Twelve female animals with a mean of 400 g body weight were used. Two of them, selected at random, were slaughtered on days 30, 60, 90 and 120 days and the last 4 on day 135 of the trial. The lesions developed were neoplastic, inflammatory, degenerative and adaptation processes. Tumors mainly developed in the bladder, lung, intestine, spleen and lymph nodes. In the bladder, epithelial neoplasms (transitional cell carcinomas) and nonepithelial neoplasms (leiomyosarcoma and myxoma), together with inflammatory processes (chronic nonsuppurative cystitis) a...
