In 14 women with cervical factor infertility functional postcoital tests preovulatory 30 days, with accurate counts of spermatozoa in mucus cervicaI and intrauterine contents were made. The values are compared with the breasts of 19 women, multiparous. A normal patient and two infertile were followed with serial through a full cycle. Exact quantification of mucus crystallization, made by a new method, proved to be a good criterion for evaluating the cervical penetrability. A intracervical level infertile group results were not significantly different from controls; a slight decrease of mobile sperm directional no practical value. By contrast, intrauterine level in infertile sperm group were detected in only 7 of the 30 cases with very low concentrations; in the control group were 18 of 19 cases. It emphasizes the value of intrauterine sperm count, much higher than intracervical tests. Th...

This systematic review aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of research that proposes executive functions (EFs) as a pathway to understanding the individual factors that support aggressive behavior (AB) and, consequently, contribute to the maintenance of bullying dynamics within school contexts. The search for articles was conducted in databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed. Specifically, studies were selected that analyzed the contribution of EFs to AB or the role of perpetrator in bullying situations, conducted in the last 10 years with samples ranging from 4 to 12 years of age. The final result of the search yielded 11 articles, through which it was identified that while EFs contribute to the development of aggressive behavior, their impact may vary depending on the subtype of aggression evaluated. Thus, superior or inferior executive performance can translate into d...

The article describes the psychometric analysis of the APGAR Scale developed by Smilkstein (1978), consisting of five Likert items with five alternatives, which evaluates the perception of family functioning (Gómez & Ponce, 2010). The scale was administered to 256 male students aged from 11 to 18 attending state school in Lima. Item-test correlation analysis provided evidence of highly significant relations (p<0.001) for each of the reagents, indicating that reagents evaluate indicators of the same construct. To assess the perception of family functioning, APGAR Scale has moderate internal consistency (Cronbach a = .788). Construct validity was established by factor analysis and a single factor was obtained through a principal component analysis and the orthogonal rotation (Varimax).

Objective: To describe the treatment of acute ischemic strokes with intravenous rtPA and determine the factors associated with the functional outcomes of patients treated with thrombolysis in a Peruvian hospital. Material and Methods: A prospective, longitudinal cohort study of patients with ischemic stroke who received rtPA over a period of 3 years was performed. The association of demographic and clinical data with functional status was assessed 3 months after the intervention. Simple and multivariate Poisson regression models were performed to evaluate associations with functional prognosis, and Relative Risk (RR) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) was used as a measure of association. Results: During the study period, 74 patients (1.19% of the total) received IV thrombolysis, and 68.18% of them achieved functional independence (mRS 0-2) at 90 days. We found a mortality of 6%, an int...

Objective: to estimate the prevalence of functional dependence and to assess its association with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in elderly subjects registered in Peruvian Social Security (EsSalud) in 2015. Materials and methods: this is a secondary analysis of the National Socioeconomic Healthcare Access Survey performed in EsSalud members in 2915 (ENSSA-2015), a survey performed in households using two-stage probabilistic sampling that was representative at a national level of population registered in EsSalud. Functional dependence was assessed using the Katz index (≥ 1 point). DM was determined by participants’ self- report. Adjusted prevalence rates (aPR) were estimated according to potential confounding factors using multiple log-Poisson regression alongside their 95% confidence intervals (CI) and p-values. All analyses took into account the complex sampling used in ENSSA-2015. R...

Atherosclerosis starts early in life. The presence of risk factors like hypertension, smoking, dyslipidemia and diabetes as well as obesity and metabolic syndrome accelerates its progress. These factors generate endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress and inflammation, with early appearance of foamy cells, fatty streaks and atheromatous plaques. These plaques are vulnerable to erosion and rupture, the so called atherothrombotic phenomenon, leading to acute vascular events like acute coronary or cerebrovascular syndromes. Managing and treating the metabolic syndrome, early markers of cardiovascular risk, could slow down end organ aging and damage, probably without reduction of mortality but focusing on three fundamental aspects of early detection of subclinical atherothrombosis: prevention of cardiovascular events, protection of end organs, and improvement of quality of life.

The present study is a transversal analysis, the objective was to determine the relationship between family functioning and alcohol consumption in a sample of 200 participants that included students of Dentistry, Nursing and Psychology. A probabilistic sampling with simple randomization was applied. The instruments used were the family evaluation test (APGAR), and the questionnaire to identify disorders due to alcohol consumption (AUDIT). The results show a significant negative relationship (p 0.211) between family functioning and alcohol consumption. Belonging to a dysfunctional family, it is a risk factor 1.21 times more likely to consume alcohol. Being part of a functional family is a protective factor for not consuming alcohol (95% CI 0.90-1.59). Regarding the variables, (33.5%) of those surveyed perceived family dysfunctions, and (48.5%) consumed alcohol within the dependent level. ...

Civil service policy has fulfilled five years of effective implementation and has data that evidence its progress until the present. Precisely, this article seeks to address the phase of implementation of said public policy, the process of transit to La Ley SERVIR regime´s, trying to provide an approximation of the results that would have throw this new attempt to start a reform in the human resources of the Peruvian State following the case of the nineteen ministries. The analysis will have as its central core twelve grouped variables in three dimensions: organizational characteristics of the ministry, normativity characteristics and tools of transit, and leadership in the ministry´s transit process. Thus, considering said variables, it will be evident that the degree of progress of the ministries manage to be explained in an important way by a number of people that provide their ...

Bullying is a contemporary social phenomenon that impacts multiple social structures and contexts. This study aimed to establish the association between executive functions (EF) and social cognition in adolescents. A cross-sectional descriptive study with a sample of 109 subjects was selected by convenience sampling. Multinomial logistic regression was performed, finding that social cognition is a protective factor (OR: 0.17 IC 95% 0.05-0.59) (OR: 0.27 IC 95% 0.08- 0.85) in the group of aggressors to controls; in addition, the group of victims to controls (OR: 0.15 IC 95% 0.05 – 0.42) (OR: 0.30 IC 95% (0.11- 0.82). Thus, adequate social cognition is associated as a protective factor against bullying, and presenting deficits in EF is associated with a threefold increased risk of bullying.
