The current study relates to designing a swarming computational paradigm to solve the influenza disease system (IDS). The nonlinear system’s mathematical form depends upon four classes: susceptible ndividuals, infected people, recovered individuals and cross-immune people. The solutions of the IDS are provided by using the artificial neural networks (ANNs) together with the swarming computational paradigm-based particle swarm optimization (PSO) and interior-point scheme (IPA) that are the global and local search approaches. The ANNs-PSO-IPA has never been applied to solve the IDS. Instead a merit function in the sense of mean square error is constructed using the differential form of each class of the IDS and then optimized by the PSOIPA. The correctness and accuracy of the scheme are observed to perform the comparative analysis of the obtained IDS results with the Adams solutions (ref...

Business sustainability has become a global imperative in response to the environmental, social, and economic challenges facing our world. In this context, the measurement and evaluation of business sustainability have become crucial to guide the actions of organizations towards more responsible and sustainable practices. However, the lack of specific measurement instruments for specific regional contexts may limit the ability of companies to evaluate and improve their sustainability performance. In this paper, we present the design of a business sustainability measurement method adapted to the context of Tarma, Peru. Tarma, a region located in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, is characterized by its cultural, environmental, and economic diversity, making it a unique context to address business sustainability. This article proposes a method for measuring business sustainability based on ...

At the end of first quarter of 2020 it was seen in most countries statistics the beginning of an imminent second wave of pandemic. On January of 2021 it was seen in the data a rapid growth of new infections. In this paper, a geometry-based scheme is presented. In concrete the rectangle and trapezoid shapes are analyzed. From this, a relation between both geometries is extracted in terms of polynomial functions. The resulting characterization of a pandemic in terms of geometric variables is presented. Thus the present model is confronted with official data of USA and India. From the results of this paper, it is strongly believed that entropy might be behind of a global pandemic dynamics.

This paper proposes a methodology (using Object-oriented data modeling) to use geometrical entities such as “Point” (Punto in Spanish), “Polyline” (Polilínea in Spanish) and “Polygon” (Polígono in Spanish) using an abstract way using their properties and some functions upon themselves, in order to use them in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Programming in an easier way to represent geographical entities. The last part you can see some simple examples about performing these abstractions.

Computed tomography (CT) is a breakthrough technology used in medicine for diagnostic diseases. The same technique is used in other areas, such as aerospace chemistry, Radio astronomy, etc. The main objective of the CT is to reconstruct the internal part of an object without having to open it as a non-destructive test. To achieve this purpose, the CT uses the attention that X-rays undergo through this object with the information, the inner part of the object is reconstructed, that is to say the CT is an inverse problem. In this article uses the Fourier transform for the reconstruction of the internal part, for it is directly part of a continuous model, representing the density at the point (x, y) of a section, with a function p = p(x, y); and even though p is not required to be continuous, the Fourier method is more efficient and a better, more regular result is obtained p.

We report the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) to improve the performance of the start-up of a 150-175 MW combined cycle power plant whose gas turbine is fueled by natural gas. In concrete the simulations have shown that the efficient drum level control is reflected on the improvement of power efficiency in the sense of reaching the 225 MW set point in around 45 minutes faster than the case of PID. Experimental data taken from ordinary runs from power plant was used for ends of system identification which is based on convolution integrals resulting well adjustable to the acquired data. Simulations have demonstrated that the performance of the MPC surpasses to the one of classic PID essentially in two aspects: (i) reducing the time for reaching set point and (ii) avoiding unexpected critical situations during the plant start-up. Results have indicated that the MPC m...

From the covariant formulation of radiation intensity of Hartemann-Kerman model entirely constructed in the classical electrodynamics scenario, a formulation of coherent states has been obtained in an explicit manner represented by the infinite sum of integer-order Bessel functions. Both linear and nonlinear Compton scattering are included, suggesting that Compton processes can be perceived as coherent states of lightmatter interaction.

From a mathematical model given by the integral Im,n=∫Pm(x)G(x)Jn(x)dx where Pm(x) a polynomial function, G(x) a Gaussian function, and Jn(x) is the integer-order Bessel function, we have performed simulations to evaluate the possible scenario of outbreak of Zika virus (ZIKV) in a big city. Our study is motivated from the outbreaks in Brazil (2007). We have assumed a list of probabilities which are connected to the number of cases in-risk which is changing in time. Also, the intervention is defined as the fraction ΔIm,n and it is selected by the Monte Carlo step. Simulations takes into account the rapid intervention that means the transfer of those identified (e.g. pregnant women) to save and clean areas away from the mosquitoes Aedes.

Paraphrasing is the action of expressing the idea of a sentence using different words. Paraphrase generation is an interesting and challenging task due mainly to three reasons: (1) The nature of the text is discrete, (2) it is difficult to modify a sentence slightly without changing the meaning, and (3) there are no accurate automatic metrics to evaluate the quality of a paraphrase. This problem has been addressed with several methods. Even so, neural network-based approaches have been tackling this task recently. This thesis presents a novel framework to solve the paraphrase generation problem in English. To do so, this work focuses and evaluates three aspects of a model, as the teaser figure shows. (a) Static input representations extracted from pre-trained language models. (b) Convolutional sequence to sequence models as our main architecture. (c) Hybrid loss function between maximum ...

Because bitcoins processes depend on Internet transactions, one can argue that the dynamics of flux and volume of bitcoins might be subject to stochastic instead of a pure determinism event. By knowing that Quantum Mechanics describes well physics in the microscopic level and it is capable to calculate exact measurements of physical observables, we apply the concept of amplitude of probability to model the success probability of any transaction involving the new monetary unit so-called bitcoins. In this manner we focus on the description of the potential transactions using entirely the formalism of quantum mechanics. In addition we use also the concept of Green’s function that appear along the construction of the amplitude. Although not any direct correspondence can exist between the dynamics of flux of bitcoins and the purpose of a quantum theory, the modeling is limited to the extent...

The abundance of dipoles of glucose in the blood stream would give rise to a pushing out of albumin proteins giving origin to the formation of a biolelectric circuit inside renal glomerulus. In the periods of large amounts of glucose and albumin in blood, kidneys might not be able to filter proteins initializing the interaction protein-protein at the renal glomerulus. From this nephrine and albumin interaction can be seen as a capacitor because the anionic and cationic functions of proteins. This paper have paid attention to the physics of renal glomerulus when it is electrically involved due to the presence of albumin that surpasses the different layers of renal glomeulus becoming a strong indicator of the kidney disease.

This work was carried out by the importance of providing insights into the nano-based drug delivery of anticancers. To this aim, a representative model of aluminum nitride (AN) nanocage scaffold and two of its boron and gallium doped forms (BAN and GAN) were investigated towards the adsorption of thiotepa (Tep) anticancer. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to evaluate the stabilized structures and their corresponding electronic features. The results indicated the contribution of N-head and S-head of Tep to interactions with each scaffold resulting six complexes; NTep@AN and STep@AN, NTep@BAN and STep@BAN, NTep@GAN and STep@GAN. In each complex model, the characteristic features were obtained based on the interactions details and frontier molecular orbitals related features. In this regard, the investigated scaffolds were found suitable for adsorbing the Tep subs...

We present a model of Probability of Success Call Completion (PSCC) from a typical I/O procedure and computationally tested through Monte Carlo simulation with Gaussian profiles. Under the I/O view the input and transfer functions are prepared without to abandon the randomness nature of the phenomenology. Because kernels are required by the I/O formulation, we have assumed that the Dirac-Delta functions play the role of kernels in according to the I/O representation. The results would indicate that under certain circumstances the formulation I/O is valid by a 10% of error respect to the Meo-Ajmone model. However, the weakness of the I/O approach would be in the extraction of a large number of free parameters, which do not necessarily encompasses the dynamic of phenomenon.

The stochastic volatility in mean (SVM) model proposed by Koopman and Uspensky (2002) is revisited. This paper has two goals. The first is to offer a methodology that requires less computational time in simulations and estimates compared with others proposed in the literature as in Abanto-Valle et al. (2021) and others. To achieve the first goal, we propose to approximate the likelihood function of the SVM model applying Hidden Markov Models (HMM) machinery to make possible Bayesian inference in real-time. We sample from then posterior distribution of parameters with a multivariate Normal distribution with mean and variance given by the posterior mode and the inverse of the Hessian matrix evaluated at this posterior mode using importanc sampling (IS). The frequentist properties of estimators is anlyzed conducting a simulation study. The second goal is to provide empirical evidence estima...

In this paper, a three-dimensional numerical solution for the bending study of laminated composite doubly-curved shells is presented. The partial differential equations are solved analytically by the Navier summation for the midsurface variables; this method is only valid for shells with constant curvature where boundary conditions are considered simply supported. The partial differential equations present different coefficients, which depend on the thickness coordinates. A semi-analytical solution and the so-called Differential Quadrature Method are used to calculate an approximated derivative of a certain function by a weighted summation of the function evaluated in a certain grin domain. Each layer is discretized by a grid point distribution such as: Chebyshev-Gauss-Lobatto, Legendre, Ding and Uniform. As part of the formulation, the inter-laminar continuity conditions of displacement...
