The sequence of a comprehensive oral rehabilitation is described in a patient with generalized loss of tooth structure, highlighting the importance of restoring stomatognathic system function through a multidisciplinary approach. The patient was a 57-year-old woman diagnosed with occlusal disharmony, generalized attrition due to parafunction, mild dental crowding, defective restorations, carious lesions, and partial mandibular edentulism. Treatment was performed in two phases: initially, an esthetic mini-JIG was used, and occlusion was stabilized by increasing the vertical dimension using stamped composite resins restorations. Introduction. Hip fractures are a group of frequent pathologies in frail older adults, with a negative impact on functionality. Objective. To determine the clinical, functional, mental, and social characteristics based on the comprehensive geriatric assessment. Methods. 445 patients were evaluated, comorbidity was measured with the Charlson index, baseline functional state with the Barthel index and the Lawton and Brody scale, mental state with the Pfeiffer questionnaire, delirium using the Confusion Assessment Method and social assessment with the Gijón Socio-Family Scale. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) sigue siendo uno de los patógenos más mortales a nivel mundial, a pesar de ser una enfermedad prevenible. La tuberculosis (TB) se trata con una combinación de cuatro medicamentos antituberculosos de primera línea: rifampicina (RIF), isoniacida, pirazinamida y etambutol, para cepas sensibles a los medicamentos. Entre estos, la RIF es uno de los agentes más potentes para controlar la enfermedad. Sin embargo, la resistencia a la RIF conlleva la aparición de casos de TB resistente a la RIF (RR-TB) o multidrogo resistente (MDR-TB). The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between students’ cognitive and self-regulatory strategies, academic engagement, and academic achievement in higher education, analyzing the mediating role of reading comprehension. Different tasks to assess the constructs were administered to 209 students (Mage = 21.71; SD = 4.36). The students' GPA was used as a measure of academic achievement. Significant associations were found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies, academic engagement, reading comprehension, and students' GPA. In addition, a positive association was found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement. The study investigates the phytochemical profiles of selected wild local vegetables in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, assessing their potential health benefits in addressing nutritional deficiencies prevalent in the region. A comprehensive analysis was conducted on key metabolites, including phenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, alkaloids, phytosterol, terpenoid, saponin, and glucosinolates. The present study explores the application of virtual reality (VR) as an innovative therapy in treating schizophrenia, a condition that presents significant challenges with existing therapeutic approaches. Through a comprehensive bibliometric review using Web of Science, Scopus, and the Bibliometrix package, this work analyzes 252 articles, highlighting the growing prominence of VR in research. The results indicate growing international collaboration, with the UK, US, and Canada leading in contributions. Keyword analysis underscores a focus on “virtual reality exposure therapy,” suggesting growing interest in this modality. Objetivos. Evaluar la asociación entre el uso de betabloqueadores (BB) y la presencia de síntomas depresivos en adultos mayores con hipertensión arterial (HTA). Materiales y métodos. Se realizó un estudio observacional de corte transversal en pacientes del Hospital Central FAP y del Centro Médico Naval. Se incluyeron adultos mayores con diagnóstico de HTA en tratamiento antihipertensivo durante al menos un mes. Los síntomas depresivos se evaluaron mediante el cuestionario PHQ-9. Se analizaron variables sociales, clínicas y funcionales mediante pruebas bivariadas (chi cuadrado y prueba exacta de Fisher), así como regresión de Poisson con varianza robusta para estimar razones de prevalencia (RP) crudas y ajustadas. We tend to see objectification as a negative act in clinical practice, yet Svenaeus makes us reflect that it has in fact allowed for a better understanding of the functioning and composition of the body. In this article, from his epistemological proposal, we will address the good and the bad forms of objectification in the nutritional practice of adolescents with large bodies by using visualization technologies, specifically electrical bioimpedance. Finally, from a hermeneutics and phenomenology standpoint, we propose that in nutritional practice, in addition to treating the biological body, we also treat the lived body of adolescents, based on listening to and understanding their being/existence in the world.
