In the current pandemic, people are looking to leave their houses less frequently to prevent getting infected, but the absence of an app that shows the necessary information before going to the supermarket forces people to look in different supermarkets for the products they want to buy, thus increasing their chances of catching the virus, not to mention the waste of money and time. DoremyS is an app that allows you to create shopping lists that indicate to the user which supermarket to visit to find every product in them; it uses Geolocation to recommend supermarkets that are near the user and Data Mining to recommend shopping lists based on the user's interests.

Remote sensing is the technology that has enabled us to obtain information about the Earth's surface without directly contacting it. For this reason, currently, the Bolivian state has considered a list of interesting applications of remote sensing in the country, including the following: biodiversity and environment monitoring, mining and geology, epidemiology, agriculture, water resources and land use planning. The use of satellite images has become a great tool for epidemiology because with this technological advance we can determine the environment in which transmission occurs, the distribution of the disease and its evolution over time. In that context, one of the important diseases related to public health in Bolivia is Chagas disease, also known as South American Trypanosomiasis. Chagas is caused by a blood-sucking bug or Vinchuca, which causes serious intestinal and heart long ter...

Water resources availability in the southern Andes of Peru is being affected by glacier and snow retreat. This problem is already perceived in the Vilcanota river basin, where hydro-climatological information is scarce. In this particular mountain context, any water plan represents a great challenge. To cope with these limitations, we propose to assess the space-time consistency of 10 satellite-based precipitation products (CMORPH–CRT v.1, CMORPH–BLD v.1, CHIRP v.2, CHIRPS v.2, GSMaP v.6, GSMaP correction, MSWEP v.2.1, PERSIANN, PERSIANN–CDR, TRMM 3B42) with 25 rain gauge stations in order to select the best product that represents the variability in the Vilcanota basin. For this purpose, through a direct evaluation of sensitivity analysis via the GR4J parsimonious hydrological model over the basin. GSMap v.6, TRMM 3B42 and CHIRPS were selected to represent rainfall spatial variabi...

Dry forests are home to large amounts of biodiversity, are providers of ecosystem services, and control the advance of deserts. However, globally, these ecosystems are being threatened by various factors such as climate change, deforestation, and land use and land cover (LULC). The objective of this study was to identify the dynamics of LULC changes and the factors associated with the transformations of the dry forest in the Tumbes region (Peru) using Google Earth Engine (GEE). For this, the annual collection of Sentinel 2 (S2) satellite images of 2017 and 2021 was analyzed. Six types of LULC were identified, namely urban area (AU), agricultural land (AL), land without or with little vegetation (LW), water body (WB), dense dry forest (DDF), and open dry forest (ODF). Subsequently, we applied the Random Forest (RF) method for the classification. LULC maps reported accuracies greater than ...

Recently there are models that study the hydrological behavior in the land cover of the hydrographic basins. For this reason, it is essential to understand the hydrological impact on land cover, which will serve for the management of watersheds. The study analyzed the changes in plant cover for the periods between 1985 and 2015, where plant covers such as Tolar, Wetlands, Puna grassland, Andean grasslands, and Yaretales were identified. Therefore, it was shown that there are losses of soil covers such as wetlands at 2.39%, Puna grassland at 1.71%, and Andean grassland at 4.77%. In addition, in this research, the semi-distributed model of Soil and Water Assessment (SWAT) was applied to study the impact of land use and land cover change (LULC) on the basin's water balance under study. The model was calibrated from (1981-1992), with the flow data observed. The result indicates that the most...

The growth of cloud application services delivered through data centers with varying traffic demands unveils limitations of traditional load balancing methods. Aiming to attend evolving scenarios and improve the overall network performance, this paper proposes a load balancing method based on an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in the context of Knowledge-Defined Networking (KDN). KDN seeks to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for the control and operation of computer networks. KDN extends Software-Defined Networking (SDN) with advanced telemetry and network analytics introducing a so-called Knowledge Plane. The ANN is capable of predicting the network performance according to traffic parameters paths. The method includes training the ANN model to choose the path with least load. The experimental results show that the performance of the KDN-based data center has been greatl...

This work is focused on the modeling and development of a CBIR (Content-based image retrieval) system applied to the recovery of digital medical images of a human body, denominated M-CBIR. This model is composed on two methodologies: features extraction techniques and metric data structures. When this set of techniques is applied to the search of different human body regions, it can retrieve the most relevant similar images to a query image. A real database of medical images composed of 772 medical studies was used to compare the robustness of the extraction techniques and evaluate the performance of the system, through four different extractors. The objective of this work will result in a digital atlas of human body for medical radiological center. Finally, analysis and conclusions are also discussed.

With the increase of the university population, the individual psychological care service by psychologists in universities has been affected. Which has caused discomfort among students to access the psychological consulting service. Therefore, this project aims to implement a data analysis system to control the psychological variables that affect university students, improving attention to them through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). We present a system that allows the visualization of data related to the mental health of the students who developed a psychological test, with which the psychologist will be able to diagnose the student's mental state and determine if he or she requires personalized attention. Finally, with this research, we achieved an improvement in the speed of attention and quality of service for the student.

In this paper we present a method of synthesizing data in the narrative discourse of two architecture publications, in order to analyze, compare and explore to what extent it is possible to understand a book on different abstract levels using static data. The information in the book is reorganized and shown in different diagrams, used as a didactic visualization method. This allows the representation of a set of kinetic information that cannot be perceived simultaneously.

The idea that there is no precedence for the amount of data that is being generated today, and that the need to explore and analyze this vast volumes of data has become an increasingly difficult task that could benefit from using Data visualization is presented. It is pointed that the goals of data visualization are data-driven and depend largely on the type of application, but the final objective is to convey to people information that is hidden in large volumes of data. Finally, the visualization pipeline is presented to review aspects of visualization methodology and visualization tool design, to conclude that the true potential of visualization emerge from the interaction of the user with the visualization model. The paper concludes establishing that the current processes of digital transformation will increase the need for visual analytics tools.
