Objective: To describe the clinical and sociodemographic characteristics of HIV/AIDS patients with neurological complications due to opportunistic infections at the Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue in Lima, Peru (2017-2019). Materials and methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study was conducted with medical records of patients older than 18 years diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and neurological complications due to opportunistic infections. The study variables were analyzed with descriptive statistics using the IBM SPSS Statistics V25. Objective: To describe the characteristics of papers presented at medical student conferences of Sociedad Científica Médico Estudiantil Peruana (SOCIMEP - Peruvian Medical Student Scientific Society) between 2017 and 2019, as well as the factors related to their publication. Materials and methods: An observational, cross-sectional, bibliometric, retrospective and secondary-source study based on the books of abstracts of papers presented at scientific conferences between 2017 and 2019. The data were analyzed with the Stata Statistical Software: Release 13 using descriptive statistics. In the multivariate analysis, prevalence ratios were calculated with a 95 % confidence interval and p < 0.05 in the crude and adjusted analyses. Objective: to determine the relationship between family functionality and treatment adherence and compliance in patients with substance abuse disorder in “Instituto Nacional de Salud Mental Hideyo Noguchi – Honorio Delgado” in year 2021. Material and method: quantitative, observational, prospective, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. Our sample was of 153 patients, this was obtained by Epidat program, considering that 80% of patients improves their adherence to treatment with family support, with a precision of 5% and confidence level of 95 %. Objective: To describe the clinical and surgical profile of patients with sequelae of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) who underwent thoracic surgery at Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo between 2017 and 2022. Materials and methods: A descriptive and retrospective research involving patientswith sequelae of pulmonary TB who underwent thoracic surgery. Data were recorded using Excel365, and descriptive statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Results: Atotal of 31 medical records were reviewed. The mean age was 43.90 ± 16.185 years, with a malepredominance (61.30 %). Most patients came from Lima (54.80 %) and the Peruvian highlands(41.90 %), and 29.00 % had completed secondary education. Objective: To determine the factors associated with gonarthrosis in patients older than 40 years of the Hospital Santa Rosa in 2018. Materials and methods: An analytical, case-control (61 cases and 122 controls) study was carried out in patients older than 40 years of age with and without a diagnosis of gonarthrosis treated at the Hospital Santa Rosa in 2018. In both groups, associated factors such as age, sex, nutritional status, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, occupation, knee trauma, low back pain, metabolic syndrome and smoking were evaluated. Introduction. The thyroid nodule in children is usually asymptomatic, multiple and isolated presentation, with difficulty in establishing the risk of malignancy, especially if it is not palpable. Objective. To determine the epidemiological, clinical and ultrasound characteristics and surgical management of thyroid nodules in patients of the Head, Neck and Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño (INSN) – Breña, 2000-2020. La asignatura se desarrolla a través de talleres en los cuales los estudiantes desarrollan un protocolo de investigación que servirá para desarrollar su tesis de titulación como médico cirujano. El protocolo responde a una pregunta de investigación relevante que lleva al desarrollo de una investigación con un diseño metodológico apropiado y con un nivel de calidad potencialmente publicable. Este protocolo será presentado ante un comité de ética en investigación para su revisión.
