Insufficient institutional credit is a major contributor to the persistent poor performance of the Nigerian agricultural sector. To encourage financial institutions to increase lending to the sector, a partial credit guarantee scheme was instituted. The scheme commenced operations in 1978 with an authorized capital of N100.00 million, subscribed to 60% and 40% by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Central Bank of Nigeria, respectively. This paper presents an appraisal of the scheme. The results revealed that there has been continuous growth in paid-up share capital, total fund resources, maximum amount of loan obtainable by farmers, number and value of loans guaranteed, volume and value of loans fully repaid and volume and value of default claims settled. Objective: To determine the characteristics of occupational pesticide poisoning in agricultural workers treated at the Hospital Barranca Cajatambo during 2008-2017. Materials and methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study conducted in a population of 295 agricultural workers poisoned by occupational pesticide exposure and treated at the Hospital Barranca Cajatambo from 2008 to 2017. Every male or female agricultural worker aged over 14 with a complete medical record of pesticide poisoning was included in the study. The variables were the sociodemographic and epidemiological characteristics of the pesticide and intoxication. This research analyzes the consequences generated by an urban/rural spatial imbalance in areas where the transformation from agricultural to urban areas occurs abruptly, since it not only changes the paradigm of the land used for activities in line with environmental protection, but also extends the negative impacts of the city on the countryside, causing the disappearance of ecosystems and the irreparable loss of tangible and intangible assets, as well as the property itself and the culture of sowing.

Expanding markets, technologies with their origins in the second industrial revolution, pressing government needs, and what might be called state policy made possible the construction of large irrigation systems during the post-revolutionary period in Mexico. This led to the expansion of the agricultural frontier by millions of hectares during the 20th century. This study examines the plans that led to the construction of these irrigation systems in the north of the country, a multiregional space that comprises about 60 percent of Mexican territory, and whose main characteristic is its aridity.

El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en la Molinería El Agricultor SAC, ubicado en la ciudad de Jaén, departamento de Cajamarca. En muchas ocasiones, al mencionar el departamento de Puno, se lo relaciona con la pobreza, situaciones de abandono y desastres, como el problema de la sequía, como reza el título de un artículo escrito por Fernando Paredes en 1983, a consecuencia de la grave sequía que asoló la región altiplánica. Puno, departamento ubicado al extremo suroeste del país, ostenta, sin embargo, el título de capital folclórica de América, y cuenta con importantes fuentes de recursos naturales, con riquezas culturales y una población rural muy trabajadora, por lo cual no debería estar en esa situación de abandono. La pregunta es ¿qué se puede hacer o modificar para que esos problemas no afecten tan dramáticamente a la población?

World Industries and Agriculture are in the process of Robotization. Agricultural robots, autonomous (driverless) tractors, with sunroofs are on the rise, and crop farming robots are growing. Harvesting robots have been found with 24 hands. In the Automotive Industry, robots are increasing more in Asia than in the US and Europe. Argentina develops precision agriculture. La investigación estuvo orientada en determinar la relación entre la asociatividad y el crecimiento empresarial en los productores de ají amarillo seco (Capsicum Baccatum) de Sama Inclán-Proter-Tacna, 2015; con la finalidad de conocer la situación actual de los agricultores dedicados a este rubro, detectando fortalezas y debilidades en las actividades que desarrollan. En este caso, se encuestaron a 75 productores, utilizando un cuestionario constituido por: 6 preguntas (información general), 8 preguntas (asociatividad) y 7 preguntas (crecimiento empresarial), evaluando en cada bloque de preguntas los respectivos indicadores planteados en la investigación. Esta investigación analiza el impacto del modelo de negocios de AGROBANCO en la calidad de vida de los pequeños productores agropecuarios en la Región de San Martín. Con un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental de corte transversal, se encuestó a una muestra de 96 productores de la cartera de AGROBANCO para evaluar tres aspectos del servicio: la especialización del personal, la función del gestor de negocios y la herramienta “hoja de producto” para la evaluación crediticia. Los resultados indican una percepción positiva del personal de atención, aunque con áreas de mejora en visitas técnicas y asesoramiento en innovaciones. This paper presents a brief description of the Peruvian macro indicators; besides it describes how the Mining and Agriculture sectors impacts on the Peruvian economy, during the last two decades. In this period the Peruvian economy shows an impressive growth 5.44% in terms of gross domestic product (GDP); this period is also known as the ̈mining boom ̈. The excellent performance of mining and agriculture sectors contributed to this economic performance. However, despite the economic growth and changes during the last two decades, extreme poverty, malnutrition and childhood anemia is still a serious problem. Mike Arce is the owner of a 30-hectare farm in an agricultural area on the coast north of Lima, Peru. He must find a solution to the liquidity problem that arose at the end of 2016 and determine if he has adequate accounting information to make his decision. Students are challenged to review information from an accounting and financial perspective. In the resolution of the case, international rules concerning information to be submitted via financial statements must be considered, especially taking into account the rules concerning agriculture, property/plant and equipment and inventories. Here we analyze female peasants participation in agricultural and food activities, their relationship and involvement in the market, protagonist role on food security strategies of small farmer communities in the south part of the Andes, which is one of the main food providers for the communities, in the context of world commerce and the economic boom of Andean food. This study was done with peasant communities, farming multiple crops, in the Andean valleys of Arequipa and Cusco.
