In the sustainable tourist sector today, there is a wide margin of loss in small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) because of a poor control in logistical expenses. In other words, acquired goods are note being sold, a scenario which is very common in tourism SMEs. These SMEs buy a number of travel packages to big companies and because of the lack of demand of said packages, they expire and they become an expense, not the investment it was meant to be. To solve this problem, we propose a Predictive model based on sentiment analysis of a social networks that will help the sales decision making. Once the data of the social network is analyzed, we also propose a prediction model of tourist destinations, using this information as data source it will be able to predict the tourist interest. In addition, a case study was applied to a real Peruvian tourist enterprise showing their data before ...

The poor condition of a road causes wear in the mechanics of a vehicle, higher probability of accidents, more traffic and tire wear. To know the conditions of a road it is necessary to monitor the international regularity index (IRI), this calculation is made with different types of manual or automatic recording devices. In Peru, monitoring is done with different types of equipment that, depending on the budget, use different performance and precision systems. At present, manual measurements are still used, which are low cost, but generate errors in the measurement or the process takes too much time and the need to close roads. In this context, the present work aims to automatically monitor the condition of a road through low-cost sensors implemented in an ATV that allows driving in all types of terrain and easily adaptable to ATVs used for patrolling in Peru. Although there are superior...

Since 1960, a higher percentage of aquatic foods have been allocated for human consumption. In 2020, 89% of global fishery and aquaculture production was dedicated to this purpose. With the increasing demand in the industry, there has also been a development of quality and food safety standards. Therefore, the food preservation technique of refrigeration becomes essential to prevent input losses and maintain quality. This leads to the need for appropriate technology for the freezing process of aquatic foods on vessels. In this research, the study and consequently, the design of a swirl effect atomizer using tools based on mathematical models and complemented with numerical simulation (Ansys CFD: Computational Fluid Dynamics) is proposed. This cryogenic atomizer, in conjunction with another water atomizer, would produce ice in the form of tiny particles. This would increase the efficiency...

The accelerated deterioration of roads is conditioned by parameters such as climate change, poor construction, and heavy vehicle traffic. Two relevant measures to monitor the condition of a road are the International Roughness Index (IRI) and the number of functional failures in a segment, mainly potholes, since they are associated with higher risks such as accidents or damage to vehicle mechanics. In the state of the art, pothole detection or International Roughness Index (IRI) calculation algorithms are proposed, but they use vehicles designed to produce less vibration and use phones that decrease the performance of the embedded sensors. In addition, some works propose complex algorithms of higher computational load that leads to use more hardware and power consumption. In this context, the present work aims to monitor the condition of a road through low-cost dedicated sensors implemen...

This article presents the numerical simulation and design of an ankle exoskeleton oriented to elderly users. For the design, anatomical measurements were taken from a user of this age group to obtain an ergonomic, resistant, and exceptionally reliable mechanical structure. In addition, the design was validated to support a “weight range” of users between 50 and 80 kg in order to evaluate the reaction of the mechanism within the range of loads generated in relation to the first principal stress, the safety coefficient, the Von Mises stress, and principal deformations, for which the 3D CAD software Autodesk Inventor and theoretical correlations were used to calculate the displacement and rotation angles of the ankle in the structure. Likewise, two types of materials were evaluated: ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and a polymer reinforced with carbon fiber. Finally, the designed p...

The demand for high-pressure, operational cryogenic fluid storage systems in specialized laboratories has driven the design of an innovative solution due to the scarcity of specialized equipment in the local market. This article details the design and manufacturing of a portable, long-lasting cryogenic fluid storage tank that meets safety and efficiency requirements, while also facilitating individual cryogenic tests. By applying Pascal’s principle, an effective increase in the pressure of the cryogenic fluid was achieved, which is essential for supplying the system at pressure. The tank incorporates specific inputs and outputs, including an additional input for high-pressure air injection, a safety valve, and a pressure measurement port, highlighting its functionality and autonomy in individual operations. The integration of these features has been validated through simulations and em...

The respiratory frequency monitoring is essential in medical environments to assess the lung health of patients. This work introduces a low-cost device designed to measure respiratory frequency in an automated manner and detect potential anomalies. The device provides accurate measurements, freeing medical staff from manual tasks. In addition to its application in hospitals, the device is proposed as a valuable tool for home sleep monitoring, opening new possibilities for the early detection of conditions such as sleep apnea. It also allows for remote data transmission and integration with mobile devices. The respiratory signal was successfully compressed without losing its key characteristics, achieving a compression rate of over 95% and facilitating storage and processing. In summary, this device aims to enhance efficiency in respiratory frequency monitoring, offering a low-cost soluti...

This study delves into the examination of internal flow characteristics within closed (with nozzles) and open-end pressure-swirl atomizers (lacking nozzles). The number of inlet channels “n” and the opening parameter “C” were manipulated in this study, as they play a pivotal role in understanding various atomizer attributes, such as uniformity of the air-core diameter, the discharge coefficient, spray angle, and more, all of which hold significance in the design of bipropellant atomizers for liquid rocket engines (LREs). To validate our findings, six distinct hexahedral meshes were generated using Ansys ICEM software 2023. Subsequently, we employed Ansys Fluent, considering the RNG k-ε turbulence model and the VOF (volume-of-fluid) multiphase model to identify the liquid–gas interface, to aid in analyzing the uniformity of the air core, which is directly linked to the even dis...

This article addresses the study of internal flow dynamics within a cryogenic chamber designed for freezing food using liquid nitrogen injection. The chamber features a circular section with strategically placed jet-type atomizers for this purpose. The primary objective is to extend the residence time of the cryogenic fluid within the chamber to ensure uniform and effective freezing of the passing food items. This is achieved by inducing a swirl effect through strategic deceleration of the flow using the atomizers. The meticulous placement of these atomizers at periodic intervals along the internal walls of the cylindrical chamber ensures prolonged recirculation of the internal flow. Internal temperature analysis is crucial to ensure the freezing process. The study is supported by numerical analysis in CFD ANSYS to assess the dynamics of the swirl effect and parameters associated with th...
