Virtual social networks have had a notable impact on our lives, and over the years it has led to the creation of new virtual socialization platforms such as Instagram, which in our context has taken great interest, especially in adults young people, occupying a large part of their personal, academic, work and social space, often leading to problematic behaviors such as addiction. The objective of this study was to design and validate the Bergen Instagram Addiction Scale (BIAS), based on the short Spanish version of the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale (BFAS). 200 Peruvian adult Instagram users from 18 to 35 years old participated (M age = 25.9; SD age = 4.29), 63.5% were women. For the design, the terminology was changed from Facebook to Instagram, in the items of the BFAS, later the AFC was carried out to estimate the evidence of factorial validity and AFC-MG for the invariance of the me...

A predictive model of the intention to graduate with a thesis, based on academic and cognitive-affective factors, is examined in a sample of 198 students from the first to the fifth year of psychology. The structural model tested by Path Analysis presented an adequate adjustment (CFI >.95 and RMSEA <.08), observing that engagement and attitude towards statistics indirectly regulate the intentionality of a thesis, while self-efficacy and methodological competencies have direct effects on intentionality. When there are adequate methodological competencies, the prognosis for doing a thesis is 82.6%, while a favorable attitude towards statistics forecasts 80.6% of the interest of graduating with a thesis.

The impact of social networks on people's daily lives is worrisome, particularly in adolescents and young people, who seem to exceed the limits of normal use. Constant excessive use can lead to pathological behaviors linked to social media addiction (SMA). Our objectives were to 1) adapt the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) to Spanish and 2) evaluate its psychometric properties in a young population. The BSMAS was adapted to Spanish, involving experts on social media addiction and people from the target population during the adaptation process. For the psychometric evaluation, 650 Peruvian college students responded to the Spanish version (53.5 % women aged 18 to 40, M = 21.5 SD = 2.7). The one-dimensional measurement model proposed for the original BSMAS was confirmed for our version (X2(9) = 23.9315, CFI = 0.994, TLI = 0.990, SRMR = 0.032, RMSEA = 0.061). The reliability was...

Background: Harmful work patterns have become a public health problem. These conditions are worrying since they can have an impact on mental health, social conflicts, and physical difficulties due to their normalization of pathological behaviors related to work addiction. Aims: (1) determine the psychometric properties and reliability of the DUWAS and (2) evaluate valid comparisons at the construct level. Methods: The Spanish version of DUWAS was used. For the evaluation of the psychometric model, 446 Peruvian workers responded to the Spanish version (60.5% women aged 18 to 65, M = 35.1 SD = 12.45). Results: The unidimensional version was confirmed (x2 = 67.495(14); CFI = 0.96; TLI = 0.95; SRMR = 0.050 and RMSEA = 0.069). The reliability was acceptable (α = 0.735; 95% CI: 0.706 − 0.762; ω = 0.741; 95% CI: 0.712 − 0.767) and measurement invariance was confirmed for sex and age group...
