Se realizaron 120 entrevistas a pobladores rurales y 71 en ciudades a personas relacionadas con el uso del zorro de Sechura con el fin de describir la relación entre el ser humano y esta especie de cánido en el Perú y elaborar recomendaciones relativas a la conservación de la misma. Los resultados de este trabajo demuestran que la actitud del poblador rural frente a esta especie es de persecución (68.3%) o indiferencia (31.70%). Sólo en el caso de Santa Catalina de Chongoyape, en Lambayeque, se protege a la especie con fines turísticos y por su acción como dispersora de semillas. Los motivos de persecución declarados fueron el daño sobre aves de corral y cuyes (95% de los entrevistados), la creencia (no comprobada) de predación sobre cabras (10%) y el consumo de vegetales o productos almacenados (13.3%). El gecko Phyllodactylus sentosus ha sido registrado únicamente en unos pocos sitios arqueológicos de la ciudad de Lima, de donde es endémico, y es considerado una especie en eligro rítico, conociéndose muy poco sobre su distribución y estado de conservación. En la presente publicación se presenta 4 nuevos lugares de registro para esta especie, todos dentro de la ciudad de Lima.

OAUNI optical observation of the supernova ASASSN-15lp

During the commissioning runs of the National University of Engineering's Astronomical Observatory (OAUNI) project, we report optical imaging of the Type Ia SN ASASSN-15lp (ATel #7691, ATel #7692) on 2015-07-17.352 (UT). The measurement was gathered using the OAUNI 51cm telescope at the Huancayo Observatory, Peru (3300 masl at the central peruvian Andes). The observation was made under non-photometric clear skies and through an airmass of 1.4. A 180-second exposure in V filter yielded V = (15.86 +/- 0.05) mag. The zero point calibration was obtained using comparison stars in the neighborhood of the field. Our measurement is 28 days after the discovery (ATel #7691) and caution must be taken for contamination with the host galaxy. The OAUNI project is supported by UNI, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and IGP.

INTRODUCCIÓN: La dehiscencia de la anastomosis pancreatoyeyunal es la complicación más temida de la pancreatoduodenectomía proximal (PDP) y puede ocacionar la muerte del paciente. Objetivo Presentamos nuestra experiencia acumulada en 198 PDPs reconstruídos utilizando la técnica simplificada de la anastomosis pancreatoyeyunal. TÉCNICA OPERATORIA: Consiste en realizar una sutura en bolsa de tabaco alrededor del borde libre del yeyuno para introducir 4 cm de muñón pancreático guiado por dos suturas transfixiantes entre el páncreas y el intestino, cerrar el yeyuno sobre el páncreas ajustando la sutura en bolsa de tabaco y colocar 4 puntos separados para “anclar” la anastomosis. Se descomprime las anastomosis pancreática y biliar mediante yeyunostomía. Purpose: The role of tumor deposits (TDs) in the staging of gastric cancer is currently debatable. TDs are defined as tumoral nodules in perigastric adipose tissue with no evidence of lymphatic, vascular, or neural structures. Clinicopathological factors related to the presence of TDs are not well defined. This study aimed to identify the clinicopathological factors associated with the presence of TDs in resected gastric cancer patients. Materials and methods: This prospective study included patients diagnosed with gastric cancer and treated with D2 radical gastrectomy from January 2019 to January 2020. We performed a cross-border molecular epidemiology analysis of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in Peru, Spain, and Italy. This analysis revealed frequent transmission in Peru and exportation of a strain that recreated similar levels of transmission in Europe during 2007-2017. We present results from a multi-chord Pluto stellar occultation observed on 2015 June 29 from New Zealand and Australia. This occurred only two weeks before the NASA New Horizons flyby of the Pluto system and serves as a useful comparison between ground-based and space results. We find that Pluto's atmosphere is still expanding, with a significant pressure increase of 5 +/- 2% since 2013 and a factor of almost three since 1988. This trend rules out, as of today, an atmospheric collapse associated with Pluto's recession from the Sun. A central flash, a rare occurrence, was observed from several sites in New Zealand. The flash shape and amplitude are compatible with a spherical and transparent atmospheric layer of roughly 3 km in thickness whose base lies at about 4 km above Pluto's surface, and where an average thermal gradient of about 5 K km(-1) prevails.
