The Andean Leishmaniasis locally known as "uta" is the most frequent type of cutaneous leishmaniasis in Peru. Ancash is an endemic region and Pampas Grande is the district with higher incidence of the disease in humans in the province of Huaraz in 1998. The objective of this research was to determine the presence of Leishmania sp. infection in domestic dogs in the district of Pampas Grande. A total of 83 dogs distributed in seven villages were sampled in August-September 2000. Ali samples were submitted to three laboratory analyses for the detection of cutaneous leishmaniasis: Giemsa smears, antibody detection in serum through indirect immunofluoresence (IFI), and immunoleish skin test (IDR). The aim of the study was to analyze the influence of the egg disinfection method and breeder age on incubation parameters in a turkey breeder farm. Two disinfection methods were evaluated: T1, fumigation with formaldehyde gas (8 g/m3) and T2, wetting with a glutaraldehyde + quaternary ammonium solution (4 ml/l of water), which were applied to hatching eggs from two batches of B.U.T breed turkeys from 51 to 57 weeks of age. A completely randomized block design with a 2x7 factorial arrangement was used. Hatchability, birth, mortality and discard parameters were determined. The disinfection method influenced the culling of hatched poults (p<0.05), where T1 achieved less culling (3%) compared to T2 (3.8%). So far, Peruvian nuclear research reactors RP-10 and RP-0 have been operating only with uranium oxide fuel elements (U3O8+Al). A sample of 164 children were assessed, between first and second grades of primary school, both of sexes, whose ages ranged between 6 and 7 years olds, who applied the Metalinguistic Abilities Test by Gomez, Valero, Buades and Perez (adapted to our reality by Panca, 2000) and Digit Span Subtest of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC III). The results showed a correlation between metalinguistic abilities and memory of children. Purpose: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) requires the iden- tification of reliable predictors of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT). For this purpose, we aimed to evaluate the performance of the TNBCtype-4 classifier in a cohort of patients with TNBC treated with neoadjuvant carboplatin and docetaxel (TCb).Methods: Patients with TNBC were accrued in a nonrandomized trial of neoadjuvant carboplatin AUC 6 and docetaxel 75 mg/m2 for six cycles. Response was evaluated in terms of pathologic complete response (pCR, ypT0/is ypN0) and residual cancer burden by Symmans and colleagues.
