In 2013, clinically suggestive cases of PEDv were reported in pig farms in Lima and Arequipa, reaching up to 100% mortality in piglets and negative results to other viral agents such as classical swine fever (CPPv) and transmissible gastroenteritis (TGEv). For this reason, the aim of this study was to isolate and molecularly detect PEDv strains in Lima pig farms. A total of 37 stool samples and intestinal contents of piglets between 2 and 21 days of age with clinical signs suggestive of PEDv from pig farms of the department of Lima, Peru were collected. Results showed that 94.3% (35/37) were positive by the immunochromatography (IHC) test; 97.1% (34/35) of them were confirmed by RT-PCR real-time that amplified a 101-bp segment of the ORF3 gene of the PEDv. Objetivo: Conocer la validez de la ecografía obstétrica en la macrosomía fetal en gestantes a término del servicio de ginecología y obstetricia del Hospital Vitarte. Enero - Marzo 2017. Método: Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo, observacional, transversal, analítico de casos y controles. La población estuvo constituida por gestantes a término con determinados criterios de inclusión y exclusión, para al final tener una población de 146 gestantes (73 casos y 73 controles). El propósito de la tesis es determinar la relación entre la incidencia de infecciones intrahospitalarias y los dispositivos invasivos en pacientes adultos en UCI COVID del Hospital Regional del Cusco 2022. La investigación fue de tipo descriptivo retrospectivo de enfoque cuantitativo de nivel correlacional, no experimental, con una población de 51 historias clínicas de pacientes ingresados a la UCI COVID de enero a julio del 2022, el instrumento fue la guía de análisis documentario. The aim of this study was to determine the in vitro toxic effect of the protein extract of macrocysts of Sarcocystis aucheniae on circulating rabbit leukocytes (cytotoxicity). Five concentrations of the protein extract (0.5, 1, 50, 500, 1000 ng/100 μl) were exposed to a population of 500 000 leukocystes/ml for 1 and 12 h in a culture medium at 37 °C. This study aimed to determine the effect of L-glutamine on the expression of immunoglobulin A (IgA) and cytokines TGF-β and interleukins IL-4, IL-5, IL-6 and IL-10 in the mucosa of the jejunum of 4-7 days old alpacas. A group of 6 alpacas was orally administered 3.3 mM L-glutamine per kg body weight and a second dose 7 days later. A second group of 7 alpacas received PBS as control.
