The advent of generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications, such as ChatGPT, has significantly impacted various aspects of human life, including higher education. This study explores university students’ attitudes toward ChatGPT, focusing on the cognitive, affective, and behavioral components of attitudes, on the basis of Mitcham’s philosophical framework of attitudes toward technology. A total of 595 university students from six public and private universities in northern Peru participated in an online survey. The results of the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis revealed that the affective component (β = 0.672***) and the cognitive component (β = 0.260**) positively influence the behavioral component of students’ attitudes when ChatGPT is used. Moreover, the cognitive component (β = 0.931***) positively influences the affective component of students’ attitud...

The present study investigated the antecedents of online ecological purchase intention considering the impact of electronic service quality and several customer behavioral aspects: ecological word-of-mouth marketing, ecological trust, ecological greenwashing, consumer social responsibility, perceived ecological value, and ecological consumer involvement. Nonprobabilistic samples of 392 respondents from three provinces in the Lambayeque region were collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using partial least squares with the structural equation model. The results show that the quality of electronic services has a significant positive impact on purchase intention. Furthermore, they show that only ecological word-of-mouth marketing positively moderates the relationship between electronic service quality and purchase intention. The results can improve the understanding of Lamb...

Background: In recent years, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) has become increasingly relevant in various sectors, including higher education. This study investigates the psychosocial factors influencing AI adoption among Peruvian university students and uses an extended UTAUT2 model to examine various constructs that may impact AI acceptance and use. Method: This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey-based design. A total of 482 students from public and private universities in Peru participated in the research. The study utilized partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data and test the hypothesized relationships between the constructs. Results: The findings revealed that three out of the six hypothesized factors significantly influenced AI adoption among Peruvian university students. Performance expectancy (β=0.274), s...

The integration of artificial intelligence models into academic settings has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Given that researchers’ interactions with and perceptions of these technologies can substantially influence academic procedures and outputs, identifying the key determinants of their incorporation into university environments is crucial. This investigation pursued two main objectives: first, to identify the variables that condition the implementation of AI models in research activities, and second, to analyze how perceived ethical considerations and academic integrity influence their adoption. The empirical study was conducted through a digital survey administered to 302 academic researchers from Peruvian public and private universities. The analytical methodology employed structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis, grounded in an expanded versi...

Artificial intelligence (AI) has experienced a significant increase in its application in the educational field worldwide. This study aimed to analyze the acceptance of AI and its effect on the entrepreneurial intentions of international trade university students in Peru and Ecuador. With a quantitative approach and a non-experimental applied design, an online survey was administered to international trade students from Peru and Ecuador. Amos version 24 software was used to obtain model fit indices and perform gender-based invariance tests. Additionally, SmartPLS statistical software, based on the partial least squares (PLS) technique, was employed to test the hypotheses of the structural equation model (SEM). The measurement model presented acceptable fit indices. When calculating invariance, the configural, metric, and scalar models were satisfactory, although the residual model was no...

ChatGPT, a large language model AI, has the potential to transform higher education by providing students with personalized learning support, assisting in writing tasks, and enhancing their level of engagement. This study examines the factors influencing the acceptance of ChatGPT among university students in Peru, following the extended UTAUT2 model with the addition of a construct called knowledge sharing (KS). A total of 772 students from seven universities in Lambayeque and La Libertad participated in an online survey, providing insights into their perceptions and experiences with using ChatGPT for academic purposes. The results from the structural equation model showed that effort expectancy, behavioral intention, and knowledge sharing positively influenced the actual use of ChatGPT. Furthermore, effort expectancy and performance expectancy were found to be determinants of the behavi...
