Teaching models in endoscopy are important tools to minimize risks derived from endoscopic procedures, taking into account that therapeutic endoscopy, also known as surgical endoscopy, has greatly developed during the last decade. This results from the fact that minimally invasive procedures present relevant contributions and promote more comfort to patients. In this context, ex vivo teaching models and virtual simulators are important tools to the safe acquisition of abilities. In this article, the Brazilian Society of Digestive Endoscopy presents and describes its first course of therapeutic ERCP and EUS in models of laboratory teaching.

An educational Virtual Lab dealing with a mixed gearing of wheels has been created. Gears of wheels are common in Mechanical Engineering applications, like industrial machinery. This Virtual Lab is ideal when teaching and/or learning the relationship between geared wheels having three types of contact: tangent, coaxial, and by a belt. The virtual lab performs simulation based on the mathematical modeling of the gearing and allows the user to visualize the behavior of a mixed gearing of wheels and to get acquainted with the rotation speeds, number of turns and other parameters that appear when a set of wheels are geared

The objective of this study is to analyze the hemodynamic factors of flow in an arteriovenous fistula (AVF). The geometric model of the AVF is obtained virtually from a computed tomography. In the mathematical model, which simulates blood flow in the AVF, it is considered a non-Newtonian fluid, incompressible and transient laminar flow. The flow behavior in the AVF is given by the blood velocity in five points corresponding to the mass flow in the systolic phase and in the diastolic phase. The numerical simulation of the velocity field in the systolic phasepresented greater intensity of axial and radial recirculations. The presence of recirculations allows figurative elements to collide excessively in the wall of the endothelium

The conditions of compulsory social confinement as a measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 has had repercussions in academic spaces, in this way both students and university teachers are prevented as a health measure from using laboratories, which implies a difficulty for the teaching-learning, especially in subjects that have a considerable practical component or laboratory hours, as is the case of physics courses. It is in this context that the civil engineering students of the V cycle, through the course of numerical methods, developed the numerical simulation of Monte Carlo. For this purpose, several virtual activities were established, such as the realization of a training workshop in programming language; in the same way, the design of a flow diagram or algorithm was carried out and then implemented in BASIC programming codes. The objective of this research is to numerically simul...

Virtual Reality (VR) is often used to describe a 3D environment wherein objects and images of the real world are simulated through technology. In architectural or civil engineering, the design process with 2D planes could lead to error owing to misinterpretation in the visualization of elements. The civil engineering program of a university in Lima, Peru, mandates the teaching of the building information modeling (BIM) methodology in all the courses, thereby allowing the students to learn about the organization and optimization of projects from the design phase to construction phase. The engineering students are required to manage many variables with the BIM methodology, especially in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Nevertheless, the teaching method of BIM could be enriched by analyzing 3D project models using VR. Whereas BIM organizes and optimizes a project through a 3D m...

Models are a tool that allow us to simulate real life systems in a virtual environment to generate scenarios and observe how the system reacts. Restaurant management systems incorporate the concepts of RevPash and Menu Analysis to support difficult decisions in pricing, promotions and resource management. In this paper, using Arena 14.0 software, a discrete event model was designed that incorporates the above concepts and simulates the operations of a restaurant. Based on the proposed model, measures were proposed to improve the restaurant's profitability and scenarios were designed with the possible effects. The value of this proposal lies in the economic advantage that can be obtained with the application of models and Menu Analysis in restaurant management.

Research on the bibliographic review studies on collaborative learning at the university level published in the last five years, allows to verify an absence of systematic comparative analysis of explicit and exhaustive analytical criteria that enables ordering of the different contributions. Precisely, the objective of this work was to establish a referential analytical model that allows a clear systematization of the corpus of articles recovered in the period 2018-2022. To meet this objective, a bibliographic search was carried out in the databases: SciELO, RedALyC, Eric and Dialnet. 71 studies were recovered. In the first part of the manuscript, this corpus of research was analyzed based on the constructed analytical criteria or variables. In the second part, the variables of the proposed model were analyzed inclusively. Based on this systematization, 12 studies were selected that can ...
