The quality of education in Colombia today is confirmed by the standardized test designed and applied by the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (ICFES) to all students in the country at different levels. The purpose of this article is to analyze the results of a diagnostic test of previous knowledge designed by the ICFES in the area of mathematics applied to all high school and middle school students of the San Antonio del Pescado Educational Institution (IESAP), located in the rural area of the municipality of Garzon (Huila). Among the aspects found is the parallelism of the tests applied to eleventh grade students in the last five years with respect to the diagnostic test conducted at the beginning of the 2022 school year. This article emerges do the necessity of relocate the relations between science, technological development and the own research. In our country, particularly in the public universities, psychology has oriented its action to the field of technology and the own research. It is ascertained that the transition of the development of scientific psychology has associated to the development of the psychology in the field of professional implementation using for that the own technology of models of intervention, from the clinical, educational or social and organizational field. Nevertheless, it is also recognizable that the production and the generation of systematical knowledge have progressed in a parallel way to the scientific research.

The work analyzes the contributions of Mercedes Rodrigo Bellido and Victoria Bossio Herrera, pioneers of psychology in Colombia, highlighting their impact from complementary approaches. Rodrigo, born in Spain, introduced psychotechnics and founded the first university psychology program in the country, consolidating the discipline as autonomous and applied to vocational guidance and child well-being. Bossio, Colombian and the country's first doctor in psychology, focused her work on psychopedagogy, promoting education for children with high abilities and learning difficulties, in addition to addressing problems such as child abandonment.
