This paper presents the automated parallel noncontact manipulation of glass beads ranging from 30 up to 300 μm in size under water. Non-contact micromanipulation is performed by generating controllable laser-induced thermocapillary flows that are capable of dragging the beads. Automated manipulation process is achieved with visual servoing in order to accurately manipulate the beads in a parallel and high-speed manner. Image correlation allowed to detect the bead positions and to provide these positions to a mirror scanner that addressed the IR laser beam at a certain position from the bead. By scanning the laser beam from one bead to another, automated parallel manipulation of beads at speeds in the range of mm·s-1 was demonstrated.

This study presents the design exploration and kinematic validation of a transtibial prosthesis based on a 2SPU-RU parallel mechanism. The prototype is currently at Technology Readiness Level 3 (TRL 3), indicating an early-stage concept that has been evaluated under controlled conditions. The mechanism replicates dorsiflexion–plantarflexion, inversion–eversion, and abduction–adduction, corresponding to ankle motion in the sagittal, frontal, and transverse anatomic planes. The system integrates electric actuators and an ESP32 DevKit V1 microcontroller to control joint movements. Functional tests were conducted to assess kinematic performance using inertial sensors and video tracking. Additional evaluations included force distribution analysis using pressure insoles during dorsiflexion and plantarflexion, as well as energy consumption measurements across gait cycles. While the protot...

This article shows how corruption today manifests itself through networks of interests that infiltrate the Public Administration. These networks generate a system parallel to the formally recognized one that has its own actors and rules of the game. Proof of this are the recent cases involving high officials of the justice system and the construction company Odebrecht. To confront these forms of corruption, it will be necessary to understand the complexity of its diverse dynamics.

Swarm robotics focuses on the study and development of robot systems containing a large number of agents that interact with each other in a collective behaviour in order to achieve tasks or overcome obstacles. Bristlebots are vibration-driven mobile robots. They are characterized by small size, high speed, simple design and low costs for production and application – qualities which are advantageous for agents of swarm robotic systems. However, most studies have been developed over systems with no control or systems with two or more actuators. The aim of this master thesis is the development of a bristle based robot agent for a swarm robotics microsystem with units for locomotion, sensing, data processing, control, communication and energy storage. New approaches in modelling and development of swarm agents are given, and a robot prototype is presented. The robot is driven by a single D...

The north of Peru is characterized by the presence of world-class porphyry (Cu-Au and Cu-Mo) and epithermal (Au) deposits, located on the west of central Andes, northern Peru. These mines and mineralized deposits are present in a temporal-structural associated with Neogene magmatism with ages from 24 Ma to 7 Ma, intruding silica-clastic rocks from the upper Cretaceous, which, due to the effects of tectonic deformations, particularly in the Cenozoic (Incaica and Quechua phases), led to the occurrence of mega controls Structural problems such as the one proposed in the following publication and hopes to open a window of debate in its environment. Structurally, the deposits in the north of Peru are controlled by mega structural systems that contain the Punre - Canchis fault (Rivera et al., 2008) in the eastern sector as the main structural accident, as well as the system of folds and faults...

Recurrent flooding in the mining works, deficiencies in the operation of pumps, unforeseen stoppages, and lack of water availability in the processes, affect the operations in the subway mine. The traditional solution adopted is to wait for maintenance times for its post evacuation, generating stoppages, consumption of water from the wells and inefficiency in the daily water demand. Therefore, this article presents a new approach that will expand the traditional methods by introducing a prediction model using probabilistic methods. This approach will allow the design of an optimal water distribution system, the efficient control in the maintenance and covering of the recirculated water demand inside the mine. Variables describing problems related to pump flow, pressure zoning and the type of pump distribution, either in series or in parallel in the pumping system, will be determined. Als...

The abundance of dipoles of glucose in the blood stream would give rise to a pushing out of albumin proteins giving origin to the formation of a biolelectric circuit inside renal glomerulus. In the periods of large amounts of glucose and albumin in blood, kidneys might not be able to filter proteins initializing the interaction protein-protein at the renal glomerulus. From this nephrine and albumin interaction can be seen as a capacitor because the anionic and cationic functions of proteins. This paper have paid attention to the physics of renal glomerulus when it is electrically involved due to the presence of albumin that surpasses the different layers of renal glomeulus becoming a strong indicator of the kidney disease.

Actuators are devices that provides a controlled change in a physical system. They can operate manually, electrically, or by various fluids. Among them, pneumatics actuators have advantages of working with compressible fluids that provides safety and efficient limitations. These are very critical parameters for soft robotics. Rigid actuators are not suitable to substitute muscle functions, hence flexible actuators are appealing. Yet the process to fabricate soft actuators have long iteration until the final product is manufactured and is difficult to design and control due to their natural flexible behavior. 3D printing could be a possible solution. Researchers are exploring feasible solutions with 3D printing material. However, since it’s a new area of research, there is not a large and deep characterization of these materials. This study will focus on the simulation of a hyperelastic...

In these times of pandemic, hospitals are being the focus of many innovations, not only for the adaptation to telemedicine, but also from the perspective of the use and processing of the multiple modalities of medical images, where we find images made up of a single Image such as x-rays, images that are made up of a sequence of images such as tomography and Magnetic Resonance, or in video format as is the case with ultrasound and angiography. One way of working with images is through popular image servers that connect to medical equipment for transfer and storage. In the process of visualization and processing, special workstations with good computational capacity are required for these purposes, in most cases these workstations are connected in the network of medical offices, therefore they are presented in a normal working image display requests at the same time. The methodology presen...

In construction companies, labor represents between 30% and 40% of the total cost of the work. The leading company in this area in Peru managed the workforce through a manual workflow, with many operational activities, subject to errors, without traceability and without being able to track the process. A paper format was used for the registration and approval of man hours (this record is known as task), multiple verifications and controls were carried out in parallel to complete the process, which ended with the payment of payroll. Given the importance of this process, it was decided to develop an information system that, through an application for mobile devices and a web application, allows the digitization of the registration and approval of man-hours worked on the works. In this way, foremen can record daily tasks on their mobile devices and assign the corresponding cost center; then...
