Transmission of SARS-Cov-2 in the current pandemic is assumed to be through small heavy droplets that quickly fall to the ground, do not stray far from the emitter, however episodes of super- spreading in closed environments, and current studies that they show that when speaking, a patient can produce a large number of small drops that are suspended for up to a quarter of an hour, which would make air transmission possible, should be taken into account when restarting activities , improving ventilation and avoiding crowds in closed spaces.

COVID-19 is a communicable disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-COV-2). The oral cavity is a route of entry for SARS-COV-2. Oral epithelial cells, taste buds, and glands play an important role as they express cellular entry factors for SARS-COV-2, such as angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and type 2 transmembrane serine protease (TMPRSS2).Oropharyngeal manifestations were found in the oral cavity, mainly in the tongue and hard palate. In mild cases, the use of alcohol-free mouthwash Chlorhexidine 0.12%, antibiotic therapy, and in severe cases photobiomodulation therapy was indicated, in other cases the lesions disappeared as the disease subsided. The virus can be detected in saliva, even before symptoms of COVID-19 appear. Reducing oral viral load could lead to a lower risk of transmission mainly through salivary droplets or aerosols. The use of mouthwashes...

Influenza pandemics are related to the viral flow of wild and migratory birds, passing to pigs and poultry (intermediate hosts), which would end up infecting humans. Process management through Good Farming Practices for animal production and Animal Welfare should be important preventive measures to avoid this contagion. In coronaviruses and Ebola there are ancestral hosts (such as bats) and intermediate hosts (such as Civettictis civetta or Paradoxurus hermaphroditus for SARS-CoV-1, dromedaries for MERS-CoV, and snakes and Manis javanica for SARS-CoV-2). In its natural state the inter-specie jump would take much longer to occur; however, the existence of wet markets, where animals are traded, would have allowed viruses to find a new host in humans. In addition to pneumonia, the invasion of SARS-CoV-2 produces temporary discomfort, such as diarrhea, due to the abundance of the ACE-2 recep...

The transmission and biosafety risks of aerosols containing SARS-Cov-2 produced by rotating instruments, which are a source of viral load for dentists potentially vulnerable to infection. According to studies carried out at Princeton University, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, during which time dentists would be directly exposed to inhalation of viral particles in aerosols, especially when patients are in the incubation period and are asymptomatic. The WHO states that airborne transmission occurs when there is a presence of microbes within the nuclei of Flügge droplets which can remain in the air for long periods of time and be transmitted at distances greater than a meter, what is known as suspended particles or aerosols. Its nature can predispose transmission of SARS-CoV-2; hence, the importance of knowing the characteristics of the transmis...

Crisis situations that affect care provision such as that caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic invite us to reflect on how responsibilities are distributed among the different actors. The multiple changes in everyday lives caused by the pandemic were accompanied by state actions and community initiatives. This context involved various ways of identifying and interpreting care and responding to the needs detected. This article describes and reflects on significant experiences of community organization among vulnerable populations in the cities of Madrid and Buenos Aires to provide the necessary care during the pandemic. The study relied on secondary sources: specialized bibliography, newspaper articles, technical reports, legislation and official government websites. In addition, key informants were consulted.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affects more adults than children. Later, the Pediatric Multisystemic Inflammatory Syndrome (SIMS) associated with SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) was described, whose peak incidence was 4 weeks after the maximum peak of infections, so it is postulated that it is a post-infectious entity, and is characterized by affecting several organs and systems. In response to this new need, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital set up a differentiated environment with two beds for the care of children with SARS-CoV-2 infection, to reduce the risk of in-hospital infections.

Introduction. We live in a globalized world that is kept connected through the internet. Determining the veracity of the information we receive is difficult, even more so in that related to health. The internet is one of the most popular sources for the search for health-related information and this behavior increases in the context of epidemiological outbreaks. In the context of the current pandemic, an increase in anxiety about health issues has been found, the main concern being being infected by SARS-CoV-2. Search strategy: A search was carried out in the PubMed database of all articles published up to June 30, 2020. The search for terms included the keywords suggested by the controlled vocabulary Medical Subjects Headings (MeSH) and connectors. Cyberchondria, COVID-19 and Mental Health: The role of the media is crucial, because it could induce anxiety in the population. Cyberchondri...
