This paper proposes the design of a quasi-experimental time-series model comprising lean manufacturing tools—such as the value stream mapping and 5S's—with the aim of reducing the level of waste and losses in a micro-company dedicated to the production of Alpaca wool clothing in Junín, Perú. The model implementation managed to reduce the level of waste by 7%, increase the efficiency in material consumption, and reduce the cycle time and total supply time. The implementation of the model allowed reducing the level of waste in the production process and creating an organizational culture based on order, cleanliness, discipline, and teamwork.

The control devices can be used to dissipate the energy of structures subjected to dynamic loads in order to reduce structural damage and prevent the failure of them. The semiactive control devices that have received great attention in recent years are magnetorheological (MR) fluid dampers due to their mechanical simplicity, high dynamic range, large temperature operating range and low power requirements. In the present research work, Matlab and Simulink are used as computational tools for the modeling and simulation of structural control systems with magnetorheological dampers (MRDs). Taking the Peru a leadership in the production of metals in the world, the world’s largest producer of silver, the second of copper and zinc, and the sixth in gold, it is necessary to develop intensive metallurgical research to give greater technological value to our concentrates. In the framework of clean technologies direct reduction of sulphides is of interest in metallurgical processes for obtaining base metal. In this investigation shows results of the kinetics of direct reduction of the chalcopyrite of complex marañón with coal in the presence of dolomite as an opportunity to produce copper from a sulphide avoiding air pollution. We studied the effect of the variables involved in the reduction carbotermica: Temperature, reasons molars of reactants, being kinetic model that we describe the phenomenology of reduction process of the chalcopyrite.

The present study aimed to evaluate the influence of commercial sweeteners such as stevia and sucralose to reduce formation of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) in model cookies. Three samples were prepared with sucrose, stevia and sucralose. The results show that the addition of sucrose promotes the formation of HMF with mean values of 15,29 ± 0,34 mg / kg, while the addition of stevia mitigates the formation of HMF in ~ 60% with mean values of 6,49 ± 0,5 mg / kg. However, the addition of sucralose contrary to stevia behavior promotes HMF formation at levels of 55,9 ± 2,99 mg / kg. These results indicate that the use of stevia reduces the HMF content in model cookies, promoting the obtaining of safe foods for human consumption.

La industria química permite la creación de una amplia gama de productos como es el caso de los polímeros, emulsiones, entre otros. En el mundo dicho sector genera $5.7 billones del PBI mundial, y en el Perú este mismo representa el 1% del PBI nacional. El presente artículo describe la implementación de un sistema integrado de la Teoría de Restricciones (TOC) y Lean Manufacturing (5s y SMED) para la reducción del Lead time del proceso de producción de la resina RA-401, para ello se analiza el problema general a través de la herramienta VSM, donde se evidencian las causas raíz, el tiempo de cada actividad y la incidencia del trabajador. Después de la implementación del modelo que se desarrolló a través de un programa de software llamado Arena, se redujo el Lead Time de Procesamiento en 7.88%, el Tiempo de Ciclo en 7.94% y se aumentó la productividad en 8.48%.

This research project addresses the challenges of waste in a Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) dedicated to the production of peanut snacks in Peru. Production waste, a persistent problem in production processes, has negatively impacted the company's operational efficiency and profitability. To overcome this problem, three fundamental engineering tools will be implemented: 5S, Informative Poka Yoke and Total productive maintenance (TPM). This article is based on my doctoral thesis supported in June 2022. The main objective is to demonstrate that the reduction of poverty in Peru in this century was related to financial inclusion mechanisms, recognizing that GDP growth is the main factor that reduces poverty. Two econometric models are presented, the first at the aggregate level and the second at the specific level to analyze the main problems that are the main determinants of poverty reduction. The results of the first model showed financial inclusion as a determinant of the decrease in the use of poverty, measured as an indicator that concentrates penetration, availability and banking. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the energy savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions from energy rating and disclosure policies in New York City. During the first six year of the policy, the City saw a cumulative energy savings of 10.8% and cumulative GHG reductions of 8.5%. However, these gross changes cannot necessarily be attributed to the benchmarking and transparency policies. In order to estimate the “counterfactual” scenario – what would have happened if the policy was not implemented, we use a combination of Difference-in-Difference Estimation and Propensity Score Matching. Based on this model, we conclude that the disclosure of Energy Star Scores to the public did not have a significant effect on energy savings and GHG emissions reductions for multifamily buildings.
