This study investigated how advertisers from the creation area of large advertising agencies perceive and characterize their creative process. Thirteen Brazilian professionals were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed by content analysis. Results indicate that several stages of the creative process overlap, such as the incubation period of one job functioning as the preparation for the next. Motivating factors include pleasure of the act of creating, media visibility and its social reach. Limiting factors include the agencies’ excessive departmentalization, reduced deadlines, and the clients’ subjectivity influencing the advertisement approval.

The research is a comparative method, transversal. It had the pur¬pose to compare the goals and motivations in choosing a profes¬sional career in 347 students of university first terms in Kinder¬garten Education, Primary Education, and Languages, all of them in a range of 20 to 22 years old. An instrument with three versions was elaborated, based on the theoretical framework proposed by Gámez y Marrero (2003). The evidences confirm significant dif¬ferences in the goals and motivations; these differences are more noticeable between students of the careers of Primary Education and Languages (sig. <.001), and between Kindergarten Education and Languages (sig.<.001). Finally, the goals and motivations were largely differentiated according to the gender (sig.<. 005), being the average for women (prom.=139.3/sig.<.005).

We present our results using an illustrative exemplary case of our work on the dynamic capabilities and the construction of a project within a student population enrolled in university courses. This period of life allows the transition between adolescence and adulthood, but also between a state of learner to that of worker inserted into the economic fabric of society. This identity construction is based on the social representations inherent to each group, but their integration at the individual level is influenced by the subjective experience of each person. Our results show that the sense of being competent, which is part of being engaged in a project, is influenced by emotional and experiential states. This influence can also be readjusted to better reflect a current self-image when there is a supported reflexive process.

As of the 1960’s, the concept of motivation has been worked by humanist psychologists as a necessary impulse to cover achievement needs, affiliation or power, as defined by McClelland, or self fulfillment needs, according to Maslow. These ideas lead people to evaluate their purpose in life and in what way their search for self fulfillment or auto realization and the well-being of others, is really a part of their own script and personal vision. On the other hand, motivation pedagogy surges as a response to a need of involving the students during the teaching-learning process. In this case, motivation is understood as a phase during the process, in which the professor assumes the responsibility of creating strategies to emotionally involve the students with the development of the subject. However, what is the purpose of using motivation strategies so that the students involve themselv...
