Actualmente hablar del binomio salud - educación en la sociedad es una necesidad que va siendo cada vez más atendida sobre todo cuando se asocia al tema de prevención de riesgos, y si hablamos de esto podemos decir que el grupo etéreo más vulnerable es la adolescencia, es por ello que se creyó conveniente aplicar un programa de educación en salud. El marco teórico fue propuesto por Sánchez (2000), Perea (2009), García (2000), Díaz (1994), Elster y Kuznets, en 1995, Ruoti (1994), entre otros.
