The study addresses the challenge of geomechanical characterization of carbonate rocks affected by dissolution and karstification, which are notadequately assessed using conventional classification methods. These methods focus on structures such as joints and fractures, overlooking specificfeatures of carbonate rocks, such as cavities. Thus, the main objective of the research is to evaluate the geomechanical characteristics of rockmasses affected by dissolution in order to establish a suitable geomechanical classification. The Soxhlet method in extracting plasticizers from PVC compounds presents various areas for improvement, such as the amount of solvent used, the time required in the process, and its costs. This study proposes replacing the Soxhlet method with the ultrasound-assisted method to reduce the time, costs, and amount of solvent used in plasticizer extraction. It also proposes using solvent recovered from previous extractions to reduce costs further. Original abstract: We explore the small-scale spatial and temporal transferability of model parameters between two points in the ablation zone of tropical Glaciar Shallap, Cordillera Blanca, Peru (9°S, -77° W; ~4800 m a.s.l.) in order to provide a robust assessment of the performance of a process-based glacier mass-balance model. Relative surface height change is calculated at hourly time-steps, and cumulative values are compared to surface height measurements made at irregular intervals (14–64 days) over the course of two continuous hydrological years (August 2006–August 2008). Over the last fifty years, indigenous leadership has undergone a series of important transformations. This trajectory has been dominated by a process of merging and reworking different models of leadership fromlocal, national and global contexts. In all of this, the creative use of visual tools and mass media has played a fundamental role. Within the Peruvian political scenario, the figure of Alberto Pizango Chota, Shawi leader ofthe Aidesep organisation, has set an important precedent in this regard. His case is an exemplary field of study on the extraordinary possibilities of exhibition, the use of images, the fabrication of aesthetics and the elaboration of new expressive codes. These are all elements that contemporary Amazonian leadership can propose and disseminate through digital technologies and relations with the mass media.

The objective was to relate eating habits with the body mass index and physical activity of university students. 237 students from the National University Federico Villarreal and 163 students from the National University of Engineering were surveyed in 2022, using an online form whose items were distributed in demographic data to characterize the students and their eating behavior (EB). Th e Likert scale was used. Th e data was analyzed with Microsoft Offi ce Excel updated to 2023. Original abstract: Because the glacier snowline is easy to identify on optical satellite images and because in certain conditions it can be used as an indicator of the equilibrium line, it may be a relevant parameter for the study of the relationships between climate and glaciers. Objectives: To compare body mass index (BMI) with body circumferences in 4 to 10 year-old Brazilian children. Design: Descriptive correlational type study. Setting: Universidad Estatal de Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Participants: Children 4 to 10 year-old. The objective was to evaluate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the eating habits and physical activity of students from the Federico Villarreal National University. Pyrolysis is a thermochemical process that occurs in absence of oxygen. The pyrolysis process has three stages: feeding and dosing of raw materials, transformation of the organic mass and, finally, collection and separation of the products (coke, oil and gas). The pilot plant of the PUCP can produce second generation biofuels from organic waste and this responds to the challenge of a sustainable developmentof bioenergy in Peru.
